Caffeine count
Caffeine is a bioactive compound that directly affects exercise performance, energy levels, and sleep quality, making it critical for users managing fitness and health goals. Even moderate caffeine intake can enhance strength, endurance, focus, and metabolism, while late-day consumption can disrupt sleep, impair recovery, and negatively affect hormone balance. Tracking caffeine intake alongside calories and macros allows users to optimize gym performance, recovery, and overall health, providing a more complete and actionable understanding of how dietary intake impacts fitness outcomes.

I'm not disagreeing that some people would find that data helpful.
Here's the thing: Most of the food database entries are taken from food labels, using US labeling standards. If caffeine is an explicit separate ingredient - which it is in some things that contain it, but not everything that naturally contains caffeine - then caffeine is in the ingredients list. But there's no requirement in labeling requirements for the amount of caffeine to be listed.
Where would the data come from, for what you're requesting?
I don't think it's realistic to think MFP is going to be lab testing food products to determine the amount of caffeine in anything/everything, unfortunately.

I think it is a great idea. I couldn´t agree more with the information provided about caffeine intake. It could be something like tracking water, where one could choose between amout of coffee (in floz or ml) or caffeine (in oz or mg)

As Ann says, where is this information supposed to come from? Most items containing caffeine don't list how much they contain.

this has been something I’ve been wanting to track recently. As I realize there is a lot of caffeine in my daily life. The combination of preworkout, diet soda, redbull adds up. So I want to track it, as when I track it I can manage it and when managed I can adjust.

redbull 80mg
Preworkout 80-350mg
Diet Pepsi maybe 40mg or less.
and don’t drink coffee so no idea for that as it’s highly variable due to being made to taste and random container size.0
