πCOUNTDOWN to 2026: LOSE 5-10+ LBS. CHALLENGE
HELLO! ALL are WELCOME to join me in a fresh challenge to lose 5-10 pounds (or more) by New Year's Eve, 12/31/25. Can we do it? YES, we CAN!
I'm in a couple of other challenges that run through the end of this year; however, although I'm staying with those, I feel like I need a brand-new "RESET" to take me through the challenging holiday season ahead. How about you?
I will kick off this challenge on Wednesday, October 15th, which is just 11 weeks until New Year's Eve. By that time I hope to be at least ten pounds lighter, provided I lose an average of about one pound per week.
Please feel free to jump in wherever you are and choose whichever day of the week suits you best to report weekly results. You can always share by posting here anytime. This is a non-judgmental support group where we encourage each other and cheer each other on along the way.
I will post a picture of my feet on my scale every Wednesday, along with matching scale app stats with date and profile photo, as well as key measurements: Bust, Waist, Hips and Panniculus (medical term for "potbelly"). My "P" measurement is larger than my hip measurement, and I would like to reverse that trend!
Please note that the above is not a requirement for this challenge. I'm just doing it to keep myself honest and accountable. (On 12/31, I will also post side-by-side "Before/After" results to show progress.)
LET'S GO!

Welcome, Donna @deepwoodslady! Weekends are really tough for me as well. At least weighing in on Wednesdays gives me some time to "atone" for any "splurges" on weekends. I think you're goal is very realistic. Congratulations on your success so far and very best wishes!π

Hi, I am from Indiana, and this cool weather is making me want Soup and Hot drinks!! I love it. I would like to weigh in on Wednesdays. I have been at 280 give or take for a few years now, and with the mid life hormones its incredibly hard to see any headway. The most I have been losing is like .4 of a lb on weeks I've done super good. I am wanting to get under 200 lbs by my anniversary next year on October 9 :). I hope you all have a great day! ~Sarah

Hello! I came here looking just for something like this. I have done so well for most of this year, started around March, losing weight, then fell right off the wagon about 3-4 weeks ago and just can't seem to get back in gear. I have gained weight back and want to stop that NOW!
I am 51 years old, in Florida, so it's still hot here :( I am from Pennsylvania and get very homesick this time of year because I want cooler weather so bad!
I am hoping to make some friends here and can't wait to see our progress to ring in 2026!

@tallymh It's wonderful to have you here! I can't wait to see all of our progress by the end of the year! Sometimes I go in the wrong direction, for sure, but I'm hoping that I'll do well. I am worried about all the upcoming holidays, but I will definitely make every day possible count. I can't wait to do this with you and the others! Welcome to the challenge!

Hello, my names Melanie. Iβm 54 and from the northeast of England.
Iβm 5ft1in and weigh 151 pounds. . Since menopause I feel totally out of control with my weight. Iβm hoping to gain that control back along with some confidence in my body. Thank you for this challenge. Itβs really what I need to help motivate me. I would like to weigh in on a Friday. Good luck and hope we all reach our goals for 2026 π2 -

@melbe159 I love the idea of both losing and gaining at the same time. Lose the weightβοΈgain the confidence! Welcome to Carole's challenge and thanks so much for joining!

@Crystal8490 I personally think the sweet cravings are the Worst! Especially for a Type 2 diabetic like me! I spent years where huge bowls of ice cream with syrup just wasn't enough. I had to add little Debbie cakes into the bowl and mix it up slightly! I would buy bottles of Hershey Syrup to squirt in my mouth. And I could keep chocolate baking chips in the house because it became my inexpensive creamy chocolate candy. Now, I avoid all of that just by simply keeping the stuff out of the house as much as possible. I definitely had desensitized my tastebuds to sugar. There was a time when I would never have admitted all of this so that in itself is a breakthrough. So, my friend, you are not alone in your cravings. I always say that sometimes I give in but I never give up! Together we can do this! Let's go!
3 -
@Seniorliving I agree about the weekends and I'm retired! But that's when I have the most visitors and I also babysit for my DGS who loves his little sweet snacks and his chips. I understand about the coming snowy weather. I am from northern Michigan. Our fall is beautiful right now, though it was a bit delayed. Walking or doing much of anything is IMPOSSIBLE in the winter here too. Even dangerous for seniors like us. I'll be using my exercise bike, occasional dancing around to music and perhaps a few youtube walking videos. Leslie Sansone has some good ones for all levels. Thanks for joining. Let's make this fun while gaining some progress!

Good morning everyone! You can call me Moon!

- Starting weight yesterday morning-257lbs
- Goal by new years is 247lbs (Or More)
I was recently diagnosed with MS this year and it hit me hard in the mobility department of my brain, SO I've got an overall goal of 100lbs, to help with mobility and prevention of other medical complications moving forward. MS is hard enough, lol I don't need heart or other complications as I age.
The workout game plan for the time being is daily walks to the park and weights at home. Diet is on point, prioritizing protein and cutting out bread/sugar carbs in favor of vegetables.
I'll be doing my accountability weight in on Fridays β¨π©·
We've got this!!

I am joining your challenge- have had no luck losing any weight for the past few years. Sweet tooth and stress eating at nighttime are my Achilles Heel. I am 58years old, weigh 155lbs at 5β5β. Hopefully accountability and motivation to and from this group will help me stick to my plan. Thank you.

Iβm a night snacker so it feels like such self-sabotage after a good day of good meal planning. Iβve got to get a grip.
