I just paid for premium plus 5 days ago. Then this new version hits, not only is it way more difficult to use, but half the items I logged in my diary now show with ZERO calories and ZERO macros! Seriously considering stopping payment on my credit card for what is now an absolute garbage app.

Interesting that their post of the "announcement" doesn't request feedback. It just says "This discussion has been closed". Well I've downloaded Lose It and my discussion with MFP is most likely closed as well. :-)

AND... I am struggling to find the navigation path to do a manual entry! I stumbled on it once by accident, but ... ????

Just to let you know, my subscription renewed on September 22 for Premium. I canceled my subscription and got almost all of my money back from the Google Play store (I paid 49 Euros and got back 46.71).

I have moved to LoseIt and am very happy with that app. It will take some time to get all my meals ad foods in but their food database is way better than MFP (at least for me, since I live in Germany and they offer a German food database).

I'm sorry to leave MFP after being a paid subscriber for 15 years but I got LoseIt for lifetime for 59 Euros so it is not only superior to this new version but also way cheaper.

I agree, this new layout is awful! It isn't easy to navigate and a lot of extra steps. It definitely was better the old way. I don't mind changes but why fix what isn't broken??? Bring back the old version, PLEASE!!

On a site where your paid subscribers are obessed with tracking weight, you've now buried all weight data under multiple layers.

You've taken what appeared to be a well-functioning app with an excellent user interface and "updated" it into a mess that looks like some cheap startup's first beta site. Way too many things are now awkward, unintuituve, or non-functional.

I won't be renewing. There are far too many button presses required in this new version

Not for the sake of gloating, but even glad that so many users are leaving the MFP, because maybe now MFPs will start listening to the opinion of those who feed them. Wishes for improvement remain unheard. At least they could write "your opinion is important to us and we will forward the wishes to the relevant department"... but no, just ignoring

I wish they would resolve the functional issues before trying to 'pretty' it up.

For quite a while, I've used the EZMFP plugin that de-paginates the results under Add Item and allows you to perform a browser page search to locate what you're after. (also provides some small button option improvements, but the depagination is the main benefit).

As of today, I fortunately have not been forced onto the new diary page yet, but as of yesterday, the EZMPF plugin no longer works, and it has already multiplied the amount of time it takes to find and add foods.

    WHAT THE PLUGIN DOES:

EZMFP gives the ability to easily re-select *foods you've already vetted for accuracy*, so they have a better chance of ending up in your Frequent lists and you don't have to re-vet the same foods in search results as often. therefore it helps bypass the consistently poor built-in search results, avoids duplicates, and reduces the amount of time spent
1.) having to search multiple tab pages (sometimes to discover that it's been pushed off a Recent or Frequent list)
    2. repeatedly re-vetting search results

NOTE: being able to save a copy of a vetted food to My Foods would be a real improvement. Especially if the built-in search allowed you to search by category.

This also the only way to get any idea of how many pages you will have to scroll through in your recipes. I actually copy and paste the recipes list into an Excel sheet so I can quickly find it for editing. THERE IS STILL NO RECIPE SEARCH, ever since the disastrous 'revamp' years ago.

I think it would make more sense to add the changes EZMFP already makes, and add:

the ability to use the selection checkboxes in Add Food for both Additions to the diary and bulk Deletions (just give a separate button that asks users to confirm). there is no easy way to find or clean up old, unwanted entries, and there's a ton of duplicate data I'd love to get rid of. why not extend the functionality of the existing page? Edited to Add: I forgot there is an option to Delete items, but only when you're browsing the Recent and Frequent tabs, not for My Foods, Meals, or Recipes which are the things I'd love to be able to clean up.

My credit union recently revamped their website, and it made everything pretty and shiny while making the same tasks require multiple steps. The world is crappy enough right now without tools you use every day becoming less usable in the name of Pretty.

As a developer myself, I don't get how this isn't understood as bad for the end user.

I really don’t like this new program. I wanted to add shrimp and it doesn’t have the intelligence to seek shrimp- comes up blank. I also don’t like that it doesn’t show remaining calories - I can do the math but I would like to to pop up !

It does show remaining calories. Tap on the calories used and it will switch to what you have left.

Agree with everyone - the updated app is slower, less efficient to use, and harder to navigate. I've been a premium member for many years, but I'm not sure I'll renew again unless it gets better.

With all the complaints, why are you persisting with the change? Do you really want to go from the best to the worst?
