House cleaning today so as not to be embarrassed when friends come over for game night. Not crazy cleaning, but light dusting, sweeping, mopping and cleaning bathrooms. Hubby is in charge of dinner (baked pasta) and dessert (strawberry shortcake with homemade vanilla ice cream) as well as cleaning the kitchen. Should be a good day.

Happy Saturday! Sorry for not being around the past few weeks. Lots going on and I tend to withdraw when I get overwhelmed.
@pridesabtch I love the dress! Very pretty. Good luck with the cleaning up and sale of your mom’s house. You have so much on your plate!
@more_freggies76 I’m so sorry to hear about your dog. They are our babies for sure and it’s heartbreaking to even think about saying goodbye. 😢🫂
@HappyDonkey75 Hope you and your horse both recover soon! Enjoy your overnight getaway!
@cschmitz110515 pretty fall photos and your dog is so pretty! Is that near the brown county dog park? I recognize the statues but can’t remember where I have seen them… Im totally not ready for the 50°s this week. If only our area would stay between 65° and 72° year round…. 😉

@PackerFanInGB Happy to see you post again. Yes, my dog walk photos are on Pleasant Lane leading to the dog park on the far west side, off Mason St where state hwy 54 mph starts. We often walk by the Oneida Veterans Memorial where they have lots of maple trees. So pretty, esp. fall.
Recap 10/24 F ~ Cold start to the day (temp got down to 29), but warmed to 52 & sunny.
- Walked dog 3.75 mi 😁 happy dog & happy me / OT exercises 😊 3x
- Made fried green tomatoes for lunch since hubby was visiting family ~ yum / pizza for supper w/ hubby & his sister ~ not my favorite kind but I was hungry / healthy snacks / limit sweets ~ more peanut M&Ms in evening… oops / 80 oz water ~ 64 / log all food / net calories zero 🤪 nope
- Fall yard work ~ cut back backyard roses & bleeding hearts, cleaned empty pots/saucers / put away clean dishes / rehearse choir song for Sunday /
readby the time I sit, I really don't feel like concentrating / digital declutter / other? 😀 ta-da!
Since it's late in the day I won't post Saturday's goals, just a recap. Then I'll post goals for Sunday.
This morning went to last farmers market of the season, visited with a few of my favorite vendors & got details of Market on Military for winter/indoor vendors. Ran into good friends P&B, but talked longer than I wanted. Went out to brunch with hubby & his sister; brought leftovers home & will eat for supper. Not going to guesstimate for food log. Afternoon was more fall yard tasks: hubby mowed front while I cleaned up charcoal grill. Then hubby helped with moving grill & patio set into shed; emptying little garbage pail; moving potting soil. I moved ceramic birdbath, empty flower pots, garden decorations & charcoal into shed/basement. Later I washed all the pots & pans sitting on the kitchen counter & did a few small inside chores. Practiced music one last time for tomorrow. I already have nearly 6000 steps. Showered & clean, now it's time to relax!

Had a good weekend. Didn't make it to the Halloween Party on Friday, visited mom and showed her house. The house is not really good to show and I think it was a bad idea to do it. We had game night at our house Saturday and went to lunch and a Bingo fund raiser with friends on Sunday. We didn't win, but our friends did. Then we went home took a nap, ate yummy leftovers and did laundry. Today is just work stuff (meetings, audits, data mining, etc.). I had a lunch time meeting, and didn't get to eat. Now I'm feeling quite puny. After work is a crap shoot. Not sure if we'll go out or stay home and do more laundry. I haven't done sweaters and delicates in a few laundry cycles and I'm running low on tops.
Not any true goals for today outside of work. Sometime tonight or tomorrow I need to clear out the rest of the crap from mom's as trash collection is Wednesday morning and I have someone who'd like to see the house empty.

It will be a very busy day/evening with a ton of lifting and carrying of furniture and random stuff out of mom's. Won't get started until after work. I have meetings until 4:30 (hubby on the same meeting). We'll need to go home let dogs out and then head over to start clearing around 6:00pm. I'd like to finish up by 10:00pm, but I doubt that will happen.

@PackerFanInGB - good to see you out here again. Looks like you have lots going on .
@more_freggies76 - I might have missed an update on your pup. I hope all is ok but if you had to say goodbye my heart goes out to you. I just lost my best pal Sept 1st and I am still struggling with grief. They are so much a huge presence in our lives and routines. The space that remains after they are gone seems immense and overwhelming. We have one more very old dog that is hanging in there but managing her symptoms is getting a bit exhausting. Not ready to make the decision with her but I know it won't be long.
Last weekend Update
I had a lovely get away to the hot springs over the weekend. Saturday night my sleep recorded at over 9 hours. Normally I don't sleep well away from home (well , I don't sleep well at home either most nights but you get the point) . The only bad part was I didn't get to enjoy the prime rib dinner I ordered . Been dealing with some GI issues for over a week now. It got alot worse Sat night into Sunday Night. Not to get too far into the weeds but I spent yesterday having all kinds of bloodwork and diagnostics run yesterday including a CT scan. The good news is there was nothing major found. (My mind was convinced I was going to get news of the worst case scenario ofcourse) The CT scan revealed moderate colitis. The PA I saw didn't have much advice to manage the symptoms other than try taking omeprazole and stay on a liquid diet. I literally can't eat much without discomfort after only a few bites. I am getting a referral to a GI specialist as the next step. I have lost another 4 lbs since Friday. And not for good reasons. My yoga pants are even sagging now. Its a bit worrisome. Seeing the scale drop when you don't intend it to is a foreign worry to me as I have never had that problem.
JFT
- Try some oatmeal and applesauce ( I need some calories )
- Slow walk on treadmill
- Get out and enjoy the crisp autumn sunshine today (its been cold, and grey last several days)
- Wait for the GI appt
- Order some supplements for me and horses
- Do atleast one load of laundry
- Work- already sent out a couple of emails that won't be received well.. I still need to look at two reports and get sent out to other stakeholders if all looks good. This gov't shutdown has things pretty quiet right now. not complaining but dreading the onslaught when things get rolling again.

Hour Commitment - I won't eat again until after 5 pm. No more dessert today. Can still have my dose of metamusal.
Dog is having a few good days and then a bad one. So for now, that's how it is. If she starts having a sequence of bad days, we'll have to put her to sleep.
My friend is sick too. Just got back from the nursing facility. She looks ok, but still can't feel her feet. They took a tumor off her spine. How awful!
I'm going through some bad times right now and I had a binge at lunch (it went over "just a dessert"). A lot of sugar. But it's over! On to my healthy habits.

Got the house mostly cleared out. It went faster than expected because the neighbors pitched in to help move the big stuff. Most of the furniture that was left was in good shape, I'm not sure why the auction house didn't take s few pieces. The neighbors took most of the good stuff which was fine, we were going to sit it on the curb hoping it would find a home. The large kennel and a small couch are left in the basement. A guy at work will get the kennel Saturday and maybe he will help us get the couch out. I cleared out the kitchen cabinets, closets and the odds & ends then swept up the floors. It doesn't look bad, just sad and empty.
Today I need to visit mom. She was sick Monday when I went by so I didn't stay long. The nurse called her doc to get permission & a prescription for some medicine. Hopefully she is feeling better today. After that I'd normally go to trivia, but I really, really need to work on the laundry. I have zero sweaters clean that I can wear to work. I wore a sweatshirt today. That isn't forbidden, but it is frowned upon for management unless it has the company logo on it or it's Friday. My last meeting ends at 3:00 so I may be able to leave a little early and get everything done.
Weighed in today and it is not great. I know I've been busy, but I've also bee making poor food choices. I don't eat all day then when I get home I grab whatever I can find. Then I go out to dinner with high calorie, highly processed choices. O crap, I just realized I start my spin class up this weekend. Ugh… I thought I had another week, but I said November 1 and that is this weekend.

Got a lot done yesterday, but didn't go visit mom. Went home took care of the pups after work, did some laundry and straightened up. Went and bought way too much Halloween candy. Then went and played in a Scotch Doubles Pool Tournament. It's a blind draw so you don't know who your partner will be. I was paired with another lady and I think the guys underestimated us. We ended up placing 2nd. We were in the running, and were 1-1 with the team that eventually won. It was a fun night. A little later than planned. I usually lose earlier in the evening and go home. I've never had to stay for the whole thing before.
Towns have been rescheduling Trick or Treat due to the weather (cold & rainy), but I'm not 100% sure when my neighborhood is planning to have it. Originally it was tonight, then one of the neighbors suggested doing it 2 nights. I'm not really one board for that. I'm good with moving it or keeping it the same, but 2 nights seems silly. We'd just get the same kids both nights. That being said I think I bought enough candy to support the 2 night thing if needed.
Tonight is candy and laundry. Maybe even eat dinner at home as crazy as that sounds. Have a good one y'all!

@more_freggies76 - I am sorry to hear about the rough go with the pup. The day to day ups and downs are hard when it comes to their health. I am also sorry about your friend who is ill, a spine tumor sounds scary. Having a little blip on the radar as far as food choices , especially in times of stress, which you obviously have going on, is ok as long as its a temporary blip:) sounds like you are committed to getting back on track and that is what matters.
JFT Wed
- Got a workout in yesterday and a walk outside
- Got an office cabinet cleaned out- 1st step accomplished of getting some order in my disaster of an office.

I'm crying today because our dog was getting worse and worse and we had to put her to sleep last night. The vet came to our house and my dog came to me on her own and put her head in my lap. So hard, but she was in too much pain the last day or so.😪

Yesterday got flip-turned upside down. I was in my staff meeting when mom's Assisted Living home called. I couldn't take the call, but I read the transcribed voice message. The nurse said mom was sick and that I might want to take her to an urgent care, but that it wasn't bad enough for the emergency room. When my meetings were over ~11:00am I called them and again the recommended taking her to the doctor because she says it feels like razor blades in her throat. I rearranged my schedule and headed to Marietta (40 minute drive). I get there and she sounds fine, but we go to the doc anyway. She was rude and mean to everyone there including me. After all the fuss the PA said she her throat was barely red and that she probably just had a cold. I had her write a prescription for OTC cold medicine. Her nurses can't administer anything without an order. I took her back to the facility and went to get meds. Dropped those off and headed back to work. It was a 3 hour ordeal and I had 2 more things to do at work. It was a total waste of an afternoon and I was in a bad mood the rest of the day.
It was Trick or Treat last night and that cheered me up a bit even though it was raining. We dressed the dog up and Tim walked him around the neighborhood. He was a cute little bugger. Didn't have too many kids, but enough 30-40 would be my guess. After about an hour the kids had stopped coming so the neighbors and I were packing up. Every year my one friend and I trade candy. She got a Snickers and chose Starburst. I really like starburst. I popped on in my mouth and next thing I know my crown was attached to the candy and not to my tooth. Doesn't hurt or anything just annoying, and pretty funny. BTW the dentist is closed on Fridays…
Tonight Tim and I are dressing up and going out. Hopefully we'll have a fun time. I haven't tried my costume on, but it's just a 70's dress and go-go boots. I'm a little worried the skirt will be too long, but I can just cut it. Not like it's high quality.
Hope y'all have a happy Halloween!
JFT Friday

@more_freggies76 My deepest sympathy to you for the loss of your dog. It's never easy, they aren't around long enough. 💔
@pridesabtch Cute pupper / bumblebee! Sorry about the crown… hope it gets repaired soon. I hope that never happens with mine. I do love starburst but rarely eat it. I guess that's a good thing.
Back to posting after overnight visit with the parents this week & fall yard work. Very good visit, also saw all 3 brothers & 1 SIL. Helped Dad out by lowering glass portion for storms in 7 upstairs windows (very glad I beat him to it) and bringing winter clothes on hangers downstairs for Mom. They don't maneuver as well on stairs nowadays, so whatever I can do to eliminate that, good. Had good text exchange with my sister once visit was done, to recap. Next day at home, walked doggo nearly 4 miles, then yard stuff. While hubby leaf-blowed front yard, I cut back hostas behind garage, raked and covered gardens with leaves, and filled last 3 gallon jugs from rain barrels, then drained both. Hubby moved barrels to side of shed & I stored hose. I helped hubby reattach the downspouts & stake down. Outside faucet now shut off & covered. I also started to bring in some of the 50+ rain water jugs to store in basement for houseplants & heated birdbath. I'll do that over time, no reason to do all at once. Not too much left to do, mainly waiting for rest of leaves to fall/rake and dump last of my flower pots (some still hanging on & looking great).
JFT 10/31 F ~ Typical fall day. Temps down to mid 30s overnight & low 50s in daytime. Perfect for walking doggo & getting yard work done.
- Take month end measurements & log 😀 ever so slowly, seeing improvement
- Walked dog 4.02 miles 😁 I really pushed mileage in Oct (80) and only 120.565 miles to complete annual distance challenge… barring terrible winter weather early, totally doable in Nov-Dec so happy me & happy dog / OT exercises
- Figure out supper / healthy snacks / limit sweets / log all food / 80 oz water / net calories zero
- Review docs from tax advisor & contact w/ questions / refill bird feeders / bring in rain water jugs whenever in back yard & take to basement / read / digital declutter / 4:30 Jeopardy (pre-game crap later) / 7:00 World Series / other?
- City's trick or treat hours 4:00 - 7:00 ~ hubby and I are skipping handing out candy for 2nd year; we know the little kids on our street but don't know most of the kids/parents that show up (where do they come from?!?) and we don't want all the candy in the house, plus the door bell ringing/costumes drives doggo nuts & Kitty into hiding… we will keep outside lights by front door off & hide out upstairs in back bedroom, watching something together
