18 of 190jm for the month. Did a middly LSD in Saturday, Sunday was a bit stiff and cold with that breeze.
@kgirlhart good luck for the race

My goal for November is simply to get running again. My schedule (mostly my sleep schedule) is back to normal now that the post-season of baseball is over. While it is sad my Blue Jays lost, the fact they made it to the World Series for the first time in 32 years and played took it to all 7 games (both in the ALCS and in the World Series) shows they are an amazing team and played so well together. It was such a great year for them!
I will try to get out later tonight when I get home. I am having a tooth pulled today so I will see if I can. I also have to make sure my Noxgear vest is charged as it's dark so early now with the stupid time change!

Back in the gym today after my week off, lower back has recovered completely, I'm good to go! Last month was simply getting into the habit of tracking, this month let's set a goal to strive for, say a combined 50 miles of walking/jogging. (Always better to start small and work your way up.)
3 Nov … 0.3 mi (work) // 1.8 mi (jog)
Cumulative totals: 0.3 mi (walk) // 1.8 mi (jog)
Cumulative total: 2.1 mi
Monthly goal: 50 mi5 -
01.11 6.4km 49min 7:45/km - slow
02.11 strength
03.11 3.0km 22min 7:25/km - fast9.40/41km - 4.4km ahead
Woops, I didn't have a nice fast run in a while! Very happy. Will be away tomorrow all day, but maybe I'll add a strength session in the end.4 -
Great run @Teresa502 . I noticed on my weather station that the low temp today was at about 1:30 am. I guess the clouds rolled in and put a blanket over us. It was 37F then and 44F by the time I got up at 6:15.
Nice running @WarmJellyfish , @nossmf (Glad that your back is all better! ), and @yirara .
1 Nov - Walked 0.50 miles - Ran 2.60 miles - Driveway and road
2 Nov - Walked 2.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Treadmill
3 Nov - Walked 0.60 miles - Ran 2.50 miles - Treadmill8.20/80 miles goal
I have decided to start Matt Fitzgerald's HM plan and see how long I can stick to it and/or repeat days and weeks as needed. Today was a Fast Finish run… 5 min Zone 1 (4.5 mph), 15 min Zone 2 (4.8 mph) , 5 min Zone 3 (5.0 mph). I walked some at the beginning to keep my HR in the correct zones. Zone 3 didn't require any walks and I wound up running 10 min at that speed instead of 5 and then finishing up at 4.5 mph - so about 11 min with no walking…which is great for me. Avg pace was 13:02 min/mile. Avg HR was 135 with a max of 162 bpm.

Just thought I'd share this. Double leg amputee. Basically walking on stilts. Took him 15 hours and 21 minutes to complete the NYC marathon. Hats off . I'm more motivated than ever now as I have no excuse. Knee pain, meh. Thanks universe for sending me this message.

Pilates followed by a short run combo this morning. Actually, my Pilates class was at lunchtime so I didn’t get out for a run till 1pm and by then it was officially hot. Feels like summer is on its way.

Hahaha @daria0919
My Dad-bod Muffin-top dilemmas are REAL 😭
🤣🤣
What day is your race (and meet up) with @Teresa502 ?

Morning all
4.47 miles at 10'46
Still feel like a bear that's all set for winter hibernation!
Damn that all-you-can-eat Windjammer buffet and Drinks package. 😭

5km, as much in Zone 2 as possible.
55% in Zone 2 / 42% low Zone 3.
Slllooowww. Feel fine afterwards, almost like I've not run at all, which I suppose is the point & I was doing the same time in July trying hard.
But I've got to admit its boring going 5km in a time I could do over 6km.
2/17 runs 15km/110km

Very inspiring @WarmJellyfish . I saw another video of the last 10 finishers. What impressed me the most was how many people had stuck around to cheer them on. I loved it. While those who are the fastest are impressive, I think those that are out there for hours and hours have a different kind of impressiveness that needs to be applauded too.
Great running @ContraryMaryMary . I hope you have a few more cool days before summer sets in for good.
Hahaha @tarun_yadavA . Those all you can eat things are tough to resist. How much weight did you gain?
@username301 Sounds like you are doing great. What plan are you following?
1 -
@tarun_yadavA Hubby and I did one 7 day cruise once and the food was AMAZING! The food stations, including a lot of international cuisines were really good and the all you can eat is dangerous. I think I gained 5 pounds on that cruise. Fortunately went back to regular weight in about 3 days.
They call it a 8K race. I’m calling it a walk in Richmond. 🤣
The 8K and half marathon (that @Teresa502 is running in) and marathon are Saturday November 15th. We’re meeting at packet pickup the afternoon of November 14th. Looking forward to it!

@daria0919 @Teresa502 I'm so happy to hear you are going to get to meet up. Have a great race day! Also @kgirlhart has her Half coming up!
Go Team Challenge Thread!

When at home I'm a daily weigher…I am just returned home after seven days of traveling….6.9 lbs increase. Ouch. Hopefully I'll bounce back a bit.

November Running Goal: 40 miles
4.7 lbs.weightlossgain (162.1 lbs -> 166.8 lbs)
————————————————————I'm Chris; I live in San Diego, California.
I signed up for an April 2026 half marathon and I'm excited its on my calendar. Sometime after the new year I'll start a sixteen week training block. Until then I am going to continue to do resistance training, get fit, up my run a little bit, and also do other active fun stuff. Addressing my excess weight is still my priority and I want to get to a stable maintenance weight before I start a run training block.
If you have a Garmin please connect on GC.

Here you are @KR8214 @_WILDECHILD_ for the November Running Challenge .
It is the beautiful thing about this thread, like Groundhog's Day with memory like a goldfish, last month's runs are gone and we all get to start again fresh in the new month's challenge.
I hope to see you here for November.

@chris_in_cal as long as you get back to your workouts and runs and regular food choices those pounds will drop off quickly. Amazing weight loss thus far!

4 Nov … 0.3 mi (work) // 3.4 mi (jog)Cumulative totals: 0.6 mi (walk) // 5.2 mi (jog)
Cumulative total: 5.8 mi
Monthly goal: 50 miToday's run was supposed to be longer, but I slept through my alarm and had limited time before having to hit the road for my work commute. Turns out it was just long enough a time to jog a 5k with a little cooldown after. Glad I didn't just skip the day entirely.
A question which may be a little TMI, but here we go: I notice after jogging for more than 30 minutes or so that the first stop post-treadmill is a trip to the bathroom. (Hasn't been an issue for my shorter pre-lifting warmup jogs.) I've seen horror stories of runners in marathons losing bodily control and having to finish the run anyway, with all the world aware of their shame. Before I even think about doing a half, I need to know if the routes usually have available pit stops along the route, if necessary.

Apparently my post the other day didn't make it!
My 'likes' did though so I must have left before finishing my post 😀🙃. Oh well!
I don't remember my comments so I'll just say → Great runs & walks everyone!
Daily weighing here as well - after a short trip to Montreal +++~6lbs. 3 days at home -5lbs.
A week later, I'm up again ?😡?
I won't stress it, it's just annoying!Any 10K's I've run @Scott6255 (that usually follow the Half's route) have porta-potty's at most of the water stations/or aid stations.
I've volunteered previously at a couple Half's & Marathon's, they all had porta-potty's at various areas along the course. When you do sign up for a Half, you can check their website for the route, it will show you where any washrooms are along the course.Posting 4 days (🤞).
Nov runs (all Treadmill unless otherwise stated):
01/11 - 0km - Rest day
02/11 - 6.47km / 4.02 miles
03/11 - 7.27km / 4.52 miles
04/11 - 6.18km / 3.84 miles - Outside!🤸♂️!
Total = 19.92km / 12.38 miles (Goal - 132Km / 82 miles)Beautiful autumn day for a neighbourhood run. Wind gusts were a bit brisk but it was mostly sunny, so I kept to the sunshine & enjoyed the surprising 13⁰C (~55⁰F) as much as possible.

I ran 1.98M at 13'19 out at the lake. I am hoping to gently get back into a good routine.

You're doing great @daria0919 .
Good for you for not skipping your run when you slept late @nossmf . I haven't ran many longer races, but my 10 mile run had pit stops along the way. I'm pretty sure most longer races do.
It's irritating when you lose your post @John772016 . Great running and glad you got to do your run outside today.
Great run @chris_in_cal . You'll be back to your routine soon. The time change doesn't help anything though.
1 Nov - Walked 0.50 miles - Ran 2.60 miles - Driveway and road
2 Nov - Walked 2.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Treadmill
3 Nov - Walked 0.60 miles - Ran 2.50 miles - Treadmill
4 Nov - Walked 0.60 miles - Ran 2.50 miles - Treadmill11.30/80 miles goal
Today's run was a Foundation Run. I did a warm up walk, ran 5 min in Zone 1, 10 min + in zone 2, I think, and at least 5 min in Zone 1, then a cool down walk. I had a hard time getting my HR into Zone 2 today - had to get up to 5 mph before it did. Then I kept lowering the pace to keep it in the zone instead of walking. I ran 2 miles before I walked today. Avg pace for the run was 13:22 min/mile. Avg HR was 131 with a max of 146 bpm.

November Goal: 140 miles
11/2: 6.25 miles
11/4: 3.32 miles9.57/140 miles completed for November
I took a rest day yesterday. Today's plan was a 30 minute tempo run. I miscalculated my route a little, so I ran for 35 minutes and had 3.34 miles. It was chilly, but not cold. So far the forecast looks like it will be 60°F on Saturday morning.
All of the Half Marathons that I have run have had porta-pottys on the route.

Morning all
Got in 5.0M at 10'26.
@daria0919 @Teresa502 look forward to the pics next weekend!!
@chris_in_cal you'll do it. Now that youve come so far

I am going to try to run at lunch. It's nice and sunny today. The main issue is I am on soft food diet as I had to have a tooth pulled Monday evening and I am struggling more this time with feeling full and property fueled with what I can eat. I hope to have the energy to as it will also be my first run since Oct. 14

Was supposed to do a Vo2max session yesterday. Thought I'd be warming up with the sprints, nah. No legs too. Took a short cut to the nearest train station to warm up. Was so underdressed, forecast in the morning was for it to be a bit warmer, with the wind, it was cold feeling more like -2c and now with the daylight savings time change, runs are starting in the dark, that added to the mental chilliness. Let 4 months of vampirism start. We who live in the shadows…. Not going to see sunrise and sunsets for a bit.

3 Nov … 0.3 mi (work) // 1.8 mi (jog)
4 Nov … 0.3 mi (work) // 3.4 mi (jog)
5 Nov … 0.3 mi (work) // 1.8 mi (jog)Cumulative totals: 0.9 mi (walk) // 7.0 mi (jog)
Cumulative total: 7.9 mi
Monthly goal: 50 miOutside of my right knee started to annoy me today about 5 minutes in, powered through the rest of my time. Tomorrow's cardio day I'll do an incline walk rather than a run, see if that helps any.

Garmin continues to be confused with the weather. It shows it was 50F when I ran at 5:00 am this morning. It was actually 35F and it felt it. 💁♀️ Anyway, run was good. Uneventful.
Hope your knee niggle clears up and just needs a little rest from running @nossmf
@WarmJellyfish - sounds like you need to sign up for a winter race to help get you out of the vampire liar!
@quilteryoyo - are you aiming for a half marathon race? I'm doing a 5-mile race at Davy Crocket Birthplace State Park (or what's left of it after Hurricane Helene washed everything away) in Limestone on December 20. You should join me!
