One meal in a day does not really matter - what matters is if you are under your calorie goal when the day is finished.
I personally find garlic bread too high to eat on a regular basis, and I always find that soup has a LOT of extra salt (so you may find that you can retain water the next day).0 -
It's not terrible meals...but you could improve them
What kind of instant oatmeal? one with lots of extra sugar? You could add fruits and a smidge of brown sugar to plain steel cut oatmeal for a much heathier version.
Ham and bean soup made form scratch or a can? Can=too much sodium usually.
Garlic bread does not sound healthy at all0 -
Losing weight is not necessarily about eating less - it's about making the right food choices. It doesn't seem like you've eaten enough, though you may have eaten a lot of calories. I like to have egg whites in the morning - or greek yogurt. has a lot more protein than your oatmeal. Also, someone else posted about the salt in soup - and it's true. Soups are loaded with sodium. I just picked up one of the soup at hand 100 calorie things by campbells to look at it. Yea, sure, only 100 calories, seems like a good choice - BUT almost 1000mg of sodium - in about a cup of soup?! Not good.
My calorie goal is 1220 before exercise - which I think is a bit low, but whatever. today I've had --
Dannon oikos Greek Yogurt - key lime pie - 160 calories,
Small recovery shake (from my gym) - java jolt - 150 calories
Laughing Cow Mini Babybel Cheese w/Blue corn w/flax seed tortilla chips (2 chips) 98 calories
Vitatop - Raisin Bran topped w/ Peanut Wonder Low Sodium Peanut Butter - 150 calories
1 can tuna in water w/1tbsp olive oil mayo on 2 lightly salted rice cakes - 225 Calories
All of that is under 1000mg sodium -- as well - and your soup alone was probably close to 1000mg of sodium....
I Burned 465 calories in exercise today already - and I have another workout coming at 3pm with my trainer - so as of now (before my gym time at 3pm) I've still got over 900 calories left!
If I had eaten only what you ate, I'd be miserable today. It truly is better to eat 5-6 small meals a day. I eat a lot more now than I did before - I just make the right food choices -- I've lost 80 pounds since the first of the year, so I know it works.0 -

I dont know what your goals are. But just speaking of the meal plan, I would like to switch the instant oatmeal with old fashioned original oat meal and bread with something whole wheat.
Any maybe a big green salad with very light dressing and some lean protein meat, like chicken breast, eggs, or turkey meat.
For me this would be a much healthier meal plan, without increasing too much calorie intake.0 -
Thank U!! Im 160.2 right now and would like to get down to 150 llbs for starters.0
