Jogging Shirtless

Ok all, I have a question for you.
I know a lot of people get offended when someone is running shirtless. Other people take offense to people not in shape running shirtless, and others have absolutely no problem with any of it.
So here is my question:
Suppose a guy like me is running shirtless in the gym. I am in shape, but by no means ripped or have a perfect body. I just like running shirtless. Its cooler, and lighter, and I don't get the nasty sweat soaked clothes sticking to me. The gym I go to does not require a shirt.
What would you people think? Bad or not?
How about people in not as good of shape, a little belly hanging out or whatever. Still ok? Personally, I think its a little tacky to show things that don't look good being shown, but if they don't mind, and the person doesn't like to wear clothes when running, more power to em!
This also applies to women in only sports bras.
Your Thoughts? Discuss.
P.S. Leave "Morality" and religious views out of it please, as that is highly subjective and inflammatory.

I have no problem if a guy is running shirtless. If you have the balls to do it then more power to you! If the person doesn't look good, then I just won't look instead of being like "Ew, he should keep his shirt on".
Now, as for the running in only a sports bra.. I would love to do that but I am too chicken. lol0 -
Unfortunately I think if while jogging you have to much skin bouncing, do not go shirtless. It's just kinda gross. I am really sorry to say. Only in public though. What you do in your own home, doesn't matter. Also don't do short shorts if you've got bouncing thighs. Just my two cents.0

I think a shirt should be worn at all times while in the gym. Outside it is fine to run shirtless.
If I was on the machine next to you I wouldn't want all your sweat flying at me, a shirt soaks up most of it so I think it is needed.0 -
i would get offended, and then take my shirt off0

Women jog in sports bras ALL THE TIMe, I see nothing offensive about it all, so why not men?? I personally never saw a guy at my gym without a shirt, but on the streets, shirtless for men and bras for women is normal.0

If they want to, it is none of my buissness. So I say go ahead! I wish I was that confident.:drinker:0

Honestly, I really think that if you feel confortable the way you look then run without a shir,
Now in the case of those with a big belly hanging out, if you feel proud, then good for you and your self esteem.
But I think is a little unconfortable for the rest of the people to have to look at that, specially while at the gym. Don't like it.0 -
I hate chafed nipples. Lose the shirt and save the nips!0

plus, if you do it its ur business no one elses! If they have a problem, its their problem IMO.0

I agree 100%0 -
Do what you want to do. Who cares what other people think? If you are comfortable with yourself to do it, go for it.
I would totally do the sports bra thing if, I were more comfortable in my skin. Getting there, but not there just yet. Spring is just around the corner though.0 -
I see it this way... I'm so focused on not tripping and fall when I'm on the treadmill that I wouldn't notice/not notice or be bothered with what or without what a person is or isn't wearing...
For me personally I cover everything up and pray that people aren't looking at me!0 -
I can see how it'd be a little weird at the gym.
Outside? do what you want0 -

Yeah I agree...unless you had a super smokin bod and you were hittin on me. Then and only then would it be ok lol.0 -

i agree...outside is fine...but inside, you should wear a shirt0 -

I always wear pasties to avoid this.....0 -
Unless you're spraying sweat all around you or something, you're free to jog shirtless as far as I'm concerned! I don't really care whether you're in great shape or not.0

Agree! It's to protect me from your sweat, just like wiping the machines off after you use them.
But I don't care if you are in shape or not, whatever you are comfortable with...outside!0 -
I think because of sweat and hair it is better to wear a shirt at the gym.0
-
If you're in shape-don't have to be ripped-but in shape, no problem with it....and I won't lie gives me something to look at occasionally haha
Same goes to girls in sports bras.
Although I do think it's more appropriate in a gym to keep the shirt on, but I wouldn't get offended.
If your not in shape and have the gut flapping around-eh I don't get offended, but at the same time I do find it kind of gross. But if they don't care more power to them I just don't look.0 -
I say eff everyone and do what pleases you. Running shirtless or with a shirt, it's all about how comfortable you feel. People are never going to be pleased, anyways. Some people hate when you chew with your mouth open, others when you talk on your phone around them. You should do it for yourself! Run shirtless and enjoy your workout! Just be mindful during the winter. Wouldn't want you to get sick. So, all in all, enjoy yourself. Be fit and happy!0

I don't mine a guy jogging shirtless outside, but at the gym I'm icked out - not because of skin, nor do I feel only people with good bodies should be "allowed" to job shirtless, but because the sweat sprays. EVERYWHERE. A little towel wipe down does not do the trick. And yeah, sweat gets on your clothes. But then it isn't spraying IN MY FACE when I'm on the treadmill next to you.0

If you feel okay jogging without a shirt and it makes exercising more comfortable then, why not? If others around you don't 'like it' then they shouldn't be looking. Whether I grimace or giggle when a guy jogs by with out a shirt is my own reflection and it shouldn't affect them at all. That being said, gyms are LESS public than a park, so why would one be okay and not the other? If anything, it should be okay in the gym and not in the park because everyone in the gym is there for the same reason.0

I say if your comfortable then by all means run shirtless, unless your a woman please keep a sports bra on :laugh:0

A-Freaking-Men.
People that have never had these don't understand.
Of course, mine were already a little chafed from "alternative activities" so to be fair, it wasn't from just running.0 -
I think that in a gym you should be required to wear a shirt regardless of gender, especially if you are using a machine that requires contact, although even on a treadmill it is not wise since the sweat can get the conveyor all wet. Outside of a gym it doesn't matter what I think about their appearnce since it is that person's preference.0

I appreciate a shirtless man in relatively decent shape. It makes it easier to objectify them. Eye candy FTW!!0
-
Yeah, I fall into the "if you're comfortable doing it - do it!" camp. Just because it might not look culturally "good" shouldn't change a thing. I think 6-foot something models who weigh 105 with their ribs sticking out look HORRIBLE - doesn't mean they're not on the cover of just about every magazine out there. To each their own - if they have the balls to do it!0
-
Ok, I peeked at your profile pictures.
You appear to be well toned and in really nice shape.
If your gym allows shirtless, and that makes you happy, go shirtless.0 -
If I run outside and its warm enough I go shirtless, but the gyms I go to require a shirt, not to mention I sweat enough with the shirt on and luckily it absorbs everything my hands arent slinging around...I know that sounds gross but I clean up my area after..
On subject though , lets say that person running shirtless was 400 lbs at one point and now he is around 210-215, still has the extra skin but what an accomplishment! And he is very proud of his journey and not afraid to show it...but sadly we dont see his story, only the shirtless guy with flab bouncing...would you look at him differently if you knew his story...maybe a freind of yours on here meets you for a run for the first time, on here youve cut up, laughed, you know how hard he has worked, now as you prepare to run ,are you going to be embarrased by him going shirtless or do you do the right thing as you are his friend and be supportive..me personally I'm taking my shirt off and running with em if anyone says anything shame on their a**!0
