Discipline

When you find yourself losing discipline what do you do to get it back? I stay within my calories, but I'm not working out as frequently and eating more crappy food than usual. This has been a pattern the last 2 months. I don't want to lose what I've worked so hard for. How can I get my discipline back? Any insight would be great. Thanks!

Im a black belt in karate, and I find nothing helps me with my discipline than a quick karate workout. Really any physically activity, especially ones you do with others is benificial. As karate focuses a lot around discipline, but even when I do hockey, I feel good about myself, and want to continue with my goals

Some people do better when they have someone like a personal trainer to push them. It makes them accountable to someone else and it keeps them motivated.

I am just the opposite, I don't want to be accountable to anyone but myself, but that's because I have enough self discipline to keep pushing.

Maybe if you have a workout buddy or trainer that would help?

I try to stay focused on WHY I'm doing this. I keep my calories down mostly for vanity, I don't want to go back to being fat. I work out because I want to stay strong and fit in the years to come, to be able to tackle anything. Also to get those extra few calories to eat back, since I have a close and personal relationship with FOOD!
  • Think of something that you want, really want, and then when you reach your goal have that as your reward.

Also, remember the reasons why you began this journey.... and force yourself to get up and off the couch and exercise. It is energizing and so beneficial to your mind and body and it will help to keep you motivated.
