I am currently on Day 6 of the 30DS. Once I complete this "mission", I want to try out another DVD series. So, which one should I try next, P90x, Turbo Fire, or Insanity?! Thoughts, please?

When I finished 30DS, I immediately went into Chalean Extreme. It's weight-training (and some cardio) with Chalene - same trainer that leads Turbo Fire and Turbo Jam. So far I'm in my second week and loving it! A lot of people do a hybrid of CLX with Turbo Fire or Turbo Jam.

I have done INSANITY and it is DEFINITELY a good workout, for ME during the 2nd half my knees started to really ache from all the jumping. I have heard a lot of people getting bored with P90X...I haven't tried it. I am currently doing Turbo Fire and I REALLY like it. It's a lot of fun!

I never did insanity but i've heard great things. I didn't like P90x because i found it to be to much upper body and geared much more towards men. I'm doing turbo fire now and i love it. Lots of dancy/boxing stuff. The music is great and i don't even feel like its working out until i look down and i see a puddle of sweat. The "routines" don't get as repetitive as i've heard insanity can be, but on the other hand it can take a few tries before getting the moves down.

    Hope this helps

P90X focuses on muscle confusion by targeting different muscle groups at different times and also incorporates cardio and yoga (for stretching and awesome core work!). Insanity is just that, insane!! It's mostly cardio based, but also has body-weight exercises to build lean muscles (such as pushups). I did P90X first then Insanity, but I honestly don't think it matters which order you do it. If you like the weights from 30DS, then I would suggest P90X before Insanity since Insanity doesn't use weights. Never done Turbo Fire/Jam but it looks like a blast!

P90X is a combo between cardio and strength training. Insanity and Turbo Fire are pure cardio. Which would you prefer?

Actually Insanity is a lot of strength work in it's own way, but uses your own body weight rather than pull up bars or dumbbells... I would say TF is pure cardio (the strength classes suck) and P90X and Insanity both are mixes of cardio and strength... P90X focusing more on strength and Insanity more on cardio.

Never tried 30DS (CAN'T STAND Jillian Michaels!) but I have done two round of P90X and am currently doing a P90X/TurboFire hybrid. Love the weights in P90X and I really liked the Plyo workout but I like the cardio kickboxing type cardo in TF. It just kind of depends on what you're wanting to focus on I think. TF is a lot of cardio with a little bit of strength. P90X is three days a week of strength that alternates with cardio and a yoga day. I just figure if I keep collecting them pretty soon I'll be able to build my own workout based on all my favorites. I'm doing Insanity next followed by the new P90X MC2 (well, if Insanity doesn't kill me I'll be doing it!)

I agree with you about the P90X being more geared toward men. I did about a month and a half of that and I just got TurboFire and I am going to start it soon! I am super excited. Heard nothing but good things about it! :)

I did 3 rounds of P90X (Lean and Lean +) and I really liked it. I wanted more cardio and less weight training so I started Insanity, plus I needed a change of scenery.. Yeah, it literally is insane. I'm on week 4 and... um... yeah... it's rough. Had to up my calories because you're not supposed to "diet, go low calories or low carbs" on this program. (This is probably why I plateaued on P90X, so be sure to follow the nutrition guidelines to fuel your body. Don't be stubborn like me and let a 4 month plateau happen.) Also, please note in the guides that P90X and Insanity are not necessarily "weight loss" programs. They both state not to expect the scale to move dramatically, but rather to measure your body to determine your success. Saying that, I lost 24 lbs and 15" doing P90X. I'm 5'2". You can see where the inches fell off in my signature.

    Best of luck!
