I want a yummy salad for lunch, but there aren't any good-for-you dressings in the fridge. What are some quick, yummy and healthy ways to make dressing?
Thanks!

  • Drizzling a little bit of EVOO is good on salad (just don't go too crazy). Also lemon juice, salt, and pepper go a long way. Any "light" dressing at the super market. You can also buy spray on salad dressing that is just a light mist coating and only like 5 calories a spritz.

You could try salsa--flavorful and low-cal.

Good ole fashioned oil and {flavored} vinegar. You get your healthy oil in and get some nice light flavoring to your salad. Also fresh fruit also allows a sweet, fresh taste to salad. Just be mindful of the serving of oil. don't pour from the bottle. Measure first!

This might sounds dumb, but I like to measure out a bit of crumbled feta and then add some applesauce on my salads... the applesauce gives it some wet-ness. And I like apples and cheese together.

I make a homemade vinaigrette with EVOO, red wine vinegar, a nice grainy mustard for the emulsion, fresh herbs from the garden and freshly squeezed wedge of lemon... I never used bottled-anything....

I don't normally have time to make my own dressing so I use this and it is delicious!

I mix olive oil and balsamic vinegar in spritzer. A few sprays and I have a tasty salad and very few calories.
