Shoes - Work & working out

Just bought a pair of new shoes to work out in, but im just wanting everyones feedback.
Do you have "special" shoes you only work out in? Im a CNA and on my feet about 6 out of the 8 hour shifts I work, I did have 1 pair I wore for EVERYTHING that have officially retired today.
I was thinking about getting a work pair & then I wear my Sperry's with everything else since its wintertime in SC.

I have work shoes and then I have running shoes. I went to the running store and got fitted for them. They only get used for exercise.0

I have the hardest time finding shoes, I have a pair of five fingers that are great for doing videos but i didn't like the feel on the readmill. I would recomend Danskos for work. I wear them all summer and in the office in the winter and they are amazing for your feet and they give you a little bit of heigh which i like.0

Over the course of the day, your body weight compresses the support structures in your shoes. You should not be wearing sneakers all day, and then working out in the same ones. You should also be mindful of how many miles you're putting on your shoes. There are tons of articles on Runner's World and other sites to help you. Highly recommend doing some reading.0 -
I have separate running shoes, separate cross trainers for workouts,zumba etc and separate trainers for day to day use. I love shoes though, any kind:laugh:0

Your lifestyle determines your shoes. If for work you are on your feet most of the day, and your workouts are not hard running...then you can get away with the same pair of shoes, as long as that pair has the support needed for the workouts you do. However, this drastically decreases the lifespan of the shoe. You will technically need to replace your shoes every 3-5 months.
I personally have a pair a running shoes and a pair of cross trainers for everything non-running. I will be getting a pair of biking shoes soon too.
My friend who has a desk job like I do but just goes on eliptical and lifts weights, he has his work loafers and his 1 pair of workout shoes. Hope this helps.0
