Hourly Wage

Greetings all of you awesome people!!! I read this one a few weeks ago and never posted it. I felt that it was a necessary one for everyone to read. Many of us do not put a value on our own time outside of work. What is your time worth? Is it worth the same amount at work as it is outside of work? Well to some it may be worth a million dollars more. How about all of those times of mommy come color with me or daddy come throw a ball with me. It doesnt even have to involve kids it could be with your spouse, or a close friend. Time to your family and friends equals love. In case you missed that TIME = LOVE =0) Take a minute or five out of your busy day and donate your time to those who love you. Dont miss out for the only thing gauranteed is tomorrow is not. Have a wonderful day my friends! Much love! =0)
How Much Do You Make an Hour?
“Daddy, how much do you make an hour?”
the boy asked inquisitively.
His father glanced at him and said,
“I’m busy now . . . don’t bother me.”
“But daddy, I’ d really like to know
how much do you get paid?
Please tell me after you’ve worked one hour,
how much money have you made?”
His father’s face formed an expression
as though receiving an insult
and he said, “That’s not the type of question
you should ask of an adult!
Such an inquiry is rude
and to you, it really shouldn’t matter.
Now go along and play;
I don’t have time for idle chatter!”
The father sat to read his report,
but as he turned each page . . .
he wondered why his son was curious
about his hourly wage?
He called the boy to return and said,
“Son, before you go . . .
I earn twenty dollars an hour.
Now, tell me why you want to know.”
The father sat beside him
loosening the tie around his collar
and his son asked, “If that’s how much,
may I borrow just ten dollars?
I’ll pay it back with my allowance.
I promise that I will!”
And curious of his son’s intent,
he reached for a ten-dollar bill.
The boy ran into his bedroom
and gave his mattress a quick lift,
then reached to grab a ten-dollar bill
he’ d received as a birthday gift.
He handed his father the money—
“Daddy, I know your time’s not free,
but now I can give you twenty dollars
to spend one hour just with me!”
