Wow, I guess I just found out I was a pear! I've been measuring my hips wrong the whole time! I don't look like a pear, but according to my measurements, (39-33-44) I am indeed a pear.0

check out my profile (the pics of my weight loss esp the bikini pic)
pear shapes are women who have larger hips but their top is skinny (average size boobs). small waist.
hour shape glass women are women who have larger hips and big breast as well. small waist.
I always thought I knew the differences in shape but your simple breakdown made me realize I had my shape all wrong. I think I am more Pear now. I wonder if it's not so much as big breasts up top but could it also be broader shoulders, small waist, large hips?0 -
I found this website:

Where you can take a test to find your shape. Then they offer advice on clothing choices that flatter your shape! According to this I am a pear...0 -
Ugh! I'm an apple. I didn't even know that was considered a shape until this website! HA
When I was skinny (and when I will be later on!) I'm definitely a pear shape. I've always had hips and thighs, even when I was small.0 -
I'm a pear i am two whole dress sizes different on my bust i am an Australian size 8 and on my hips i am an Australian size 12. I've had a few people tell me i should stay fat because it isn't as noticeable
That was just rude... Forget those people!!!! >:(0 -
Im a pear definately. Size 14 jeans with a L or XL shirt and an A cup. I always used to be confused on why my boobs werent bigger (i thought all bigger girls had bigger boobs) but finally i had to accept my body shape as is. I have really thick thighs and butt, a smaller waist (my stomach has the least amount of fat), and thick arms.0

Okay so i went to the websote and they told me i was a hourglass. I guess its because of my wide shoulders? I always thought it had something to do with breast size...guess not lol0 -

pear here too! my thighs have always been the largest part of me, even when I was a skinny teenager.
Like some other posters, although I'm a pear, I recently started putting weight on my middle area as well, but I still think the pear shape is noticeable
I've only just started out, so I'll post some before and after pictures once I've lost some weight! :-)0 -
I'm suuper pear shaped. I have pics on my profile, you're more than welcome to look0

Definite pear shape here ... always have been. My lower half has always been larger than the rest of me ... I used to try and hide the extra junk in my trunk because I was embarrassed. Well, not any more ... I am learning to embrace it ... well, not literally ... you know what I mean.
PEARS UNITE!!!  :laugh:0 -
I always thought of myself as a pear but now someone's mentioned hourglass I think that's more me as I'm 36-32-37 although I'm never quite sure where to measure re hips and tend to go for the stomach!
Actually 36-32-41 so pear methinks! I knew I was.0 -

I'm in the pear club too. I'm 28 5ft 4in & 32-28-40. My bottom half is always bigger, when I weighed 117lbs my hips were 37 in. I have such a hard time finding jeans to fit. Do y'all ladies have the same issue? My waist is small so the waist of the jeans gap out, I need stretch jeans b/c of my big bootie & thighs, and then the length is an issue LOL. I usualy wear Grane brand jeans that are made for curvy girls.0

Haha, same! Can't get smaller jeans because they'll never get over my hips. Go the next size up? either falling down or gaping at the waist. belts don't seem to help at all.0
