I just wanted to feel special. Everyone is posting NSV's lately

My NSV today is that I turned down a fountain soda (Dr. Pepper to be exact - my addiction) and asked for water instead! Today will be day two (in a row) of no soda!!!!!!

We live out in the middle of no where basically, and I have no Dr. Pepper (or any soda) in the house. So today was my last chance to get stocked up. (My BF went into town to finish moving the last of our stuff)

In the past- knowing this was my "last chance" I would have asked BF to get me a 24 pk case. But NOPE! I don't need it or even WANT it to that matter!

    I'm a Dr Pepper addict too. I thought I had escaped it when I moved to Germany (when I moved, nowhere nearby sold it)...

    But now pretty much every shop sells it.

    Ah, good for you. I love Dr. Pepper but I hardly ever drink non-diet soda and there is no diet version of it here (Germany). (Or of cherry / vanilla coke for that matter.) It's really rather tragic.

    If you like a "sweet" beverage, try making iced tea with herbal teas. I just take the bag and put it directly into my water. No boiling necessary. The best one I have found is Celestial Seasonings Blueberry. It actually tastes like blueberry! It's not so good as hot tea but awesome cold.

    And, congrats to YOU on giving up soda! You are going to feel so much better! I am going into my fourth week without soda. (I have passed that mark of "21 days to make something a habit.") I drink a cup or two of coffee at work in the morning, and the rest of the day I only drink water or milk. I use Mio to add to my water. I know, I know-- all the chemicals. I add a small amount to flavor my water in those times that I am just not in the mood for plain water.

    NSV= Non Scale Victory

    I had a seriously bad Diet Dr Pepper addiction- 4-5 cans a day. I stopped drinking it almost three years ago. The hubby still drinks diet Coke, and I was so thirsty I took a sip ...... bleeech!!!! Once you stop drinking it for a while it just doesn't taste good anymore.

    wow that is great! I love Dr. Pepper too! There is a new Dr. Pepper 10 Calorie Drink I saw an ad for in the newspaper today but i haven't tried it yet, maybe it's an option if your having a craving everyone once in an while, but stick to the water, it is way better for you! :) Keep up the great work!
