I decided to dedicate this topic to all of us that start Monday or anytime this week, I can't lie though! I started today!
Lets put our starting weight and goal weights. I would do my measurments but, Im too lazy to go check.

Hi everyone,
Starting back up today doing the 17 day diet. I did it back in April til about June. And I lost 15 pounds on it.
I would like to loose another 10 or 12.
It really does work if you stick to it. Since then Ive been eating healthy during the week and not so healthy on the weekends. I need some support because I loose all control over the weekend. And I want to be held accountable!
So Lets do this. Please add me as your friend. For I need people that are doing this diet also.

I am also starting the 17 Day diet for the second time today. I did the first 2 cycles back in March and lost about 12 lbs. I am looking forward to working with people who are at the same stage.

Started 17 dd today. I was off for Columbus Day. Hooray for my job even though I don't get paid. I was able to walk for about 70 minutes, burned 432 calories according to my pedometer.
For breakfast, I had a 3 egg omelet with green peppers and a banana
Lunch was a tuna salad with lettuce and green peppers and salsa as dressing
Snacks were a slice of watermelon and another banana I split with my son
Now though I'm realizing that bananas are not allowed yet so I have to get other fruits to snack on. Tomorrow is the big test as to whether I can continue to eat this way at work.
SW: 231.5
CW: 219.5
GW after cycle 1: 209
Goal is to walk 4 times a week, an hour a day after work and Pilates with Exercise TV 3 times a week.0 -
Im doing the 30 day shred in the moring. Level 1,2 or 3 then I also usually run either later in the afternoon or at night. I usually run 5 miles. Usually exercise 5 or 6 days a week.
For Breakfast I had eggs and a half of grapefruit. Snack carrots. Lunch tuna with a small amount mayo. and 1/2 grapefruit. Snack more carrots. Not sure what Im having for dinner yet. OH and tea with both breakfast and lunch.
Now is the tricky part to eat healthy the rest of the night.0 -

Hey everyone!! I'll be starting on Wednesday! I'm gonna be so busy tomorrow, and I'll need to go shopping for veggies and some fruits. How many snacks do you all plan on having? I really don't think I can get by with one (or 2!). I'm a 3 snack/day person. If I don't eat something small after dinner, I won't be able to sleep... And I'm worried about not getting enough calories... I'm not a big meat eater, so I'll probably be trying to add calories through veggies... An impossible task. But I'm inspired by the people who have done this before, so lets have a great first 17 days!Whats everyone doing for excerisize?

I ate one and three quarters banana not even realizing I can't have those yet so yeah I was unconsciously bad. I did however manage to avoid the nutella at my moms house. You're gonna have to .

Thanks Steph, I didn't know about the watermelon either. I may need to do some additional reading of cycle one. i was trying to avoid ask the tempting food at my sisters house and settled on a slice to keep the hunger at bay. I did go to the farmers market though and ended up getting the allowed fruits and veggies.0

Good luck tomorrow everyone. I'm going to try to get up at 5:30 am tomorrow to get my walk in. my job has yoga tomorrow evening so I'll try to do that instead of pilates.0

Ok everyone Day 1 a success!! No cheating what so ever. That is truly hard for me. Lets hope the scales moves on down.
Dishing up the kids ice cream was a little tempting... but I stayed strong.

Day 1 was pretty good. I had apples, yogurt, cottage cheese, leftover bbq chicken with green beans. Then for dinner I had 2 eggs and turkey sausage and some deli chicken. No cheating until I ate a handful of raw almonds. But I'm ok with it since I didn't have my one good fat for the day.
Today, more of the same. Apple, cottage cheese and yogurt so far. I have another apple that I might but up and put with some leftover chicken for a nice chicken salad. I don't have any lettuce right now so I will just have to eat it plain. I have no idea what's for dinner tonight. I have class so not much time!
Keep going everyone. We can do this!0 -
Day one complete! I know that you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday but it is hard not to at the beginning when you lose the most. It appears that I already lost 2 lbs! Even if it is just water weight it is still very motivating.
For excercize I go to the gym after work and do 30 minutes of cardio. Either on the eliptical or the tredmill and then do about 15 minutes of weights. I expect that I will be kicking up my routine once I start to plateau in the later cycles.

Today Im off to a good start. I had my eggs and grapefruit for breakfast. And just had my 2nd fruit of the day which is red grapes.
Does anyone know if its ok to take a Acidophilus probiotic-4 supplemant instead of having yogurt. I burnt my self out on the yogurt the first time around with this diet. And I would rather take the supplemant. I loaned my book out to the neighbor and if anyone knows let me know.
Going to do the 30 day shred in a little bit. Then off to the gym later for a run.

Okay so Day 1 wasn't that good. I did great until dinner. It just wasn't enough and I ate some cheeseballs. I did exercise some though. Today will be much better. I'm going stick to the plan and hit the gym tonight.
My exercise is
outside walking, soccer, eliptical , or bike for atleast 30 or more mintues a day. I also use a kettle bell but can't really tell if its working.0 -

I started the 17 dd on Sunday. I am excited to join other people following the plan. I have food issues and can't have dairy or yogurt along with a number of other foods. I have been using soy milk along with a probotic tablet. I wanted the calcium along with the extra calories. I'm not sure how much that will effect my weight loss. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

hi everyone,
I made some pumpkin tilapia stew/soup last night. Here's the list of ingredients. I think all of it is allowed on cycle one:
pumpkin (about 3 cups cubed)
mushrooms (about 2 cups)
bok choy (2 cups chopped)
celery (2 stalks)
red and green peppers (about 2 cups combined)
scallions (1 bunch)
onions (1/2)
shallots (1 large one)
baby carrots (about 2 cups)
tomato (1 plum sized)
i let some stuff saute and then added about 4 cups of water and the other stuff (carrots, bok choy, pumpkin and tilapia). i ate some last night and took some to work to eat for lunch today.
unfortunately, the dept where i work was having a luncheon today with pizza, ice cream and cookies. i HAD to go. so i went, got some salad and 1 slice of pizza. i pulled the spinach and red peppers off the pizza along with the cheese and ate that with my bland garden salad. i ate one bit of the pizza and left the rest cause i couldn't put it back in the box after touching it. i made it through lunch and went back to my desk and ate my yogurt and my grapes.
ate another snack of fruit at 3:30 even though I know fruit is not allowed after 2. i had 2 servings of my pumpkin soup after i got home from yoga though. my stomach was grumbling in class.
so now i'm nice and full with no cravings. off to bed to get some reading done and get up in time tomorrow for day 2 of my 5:30 AM walk. i just wish my pedometer worked.

hi Lelah, i can relate to having issues with food. i'm lactose intolerant and have been for a long time. ive found though that certain dairy products are okay. for example, cheddar cheese has no lactose and i can eat it but forget any other cheese. i can do yogurt but not ice cream. i can't drink regular milk just lactaid. maybe you can try lactaid yogurt, that has worked for me in the past or perhaps almond milk.

Is anyone else having a hard time reaching 1200 cals a day. If i only eat whats listed a s meals i have like 600 cals left. Maybe i'm not doing something right?0

Sooo ... C1D1 is complete and I feel great!! It wasn't difficult at all for me. I ate the vegetables, protein, yogurt and fruits that are already some of my favorites. I did have a small sweets craving this evening though - the no fruit after 2pm may be the most challenging for me -- nothing a pomegranate cranberry flavored green tea won't fix!
My calories are super low though, but I stopped eating when I was full with each meal. Not sure how I could eat more calories with these restrictions.0
