I wish the calories burned on work out machines at the gym (or at home) were trackable.

Or are they and I'm missing it?

Would really help daily tracking!!

  • Can't you just create a new exercise and log the caps burnt? I create a new exercise everyday and log cals from my heat rate monitor?

It's not really enough to be worth logging.

You might burn 200 over an hour. About the same as free-weight exercises.

Values would probably be higher if you did them in a circuit fashion too.
  • if you go into exercise/cardio and put down "weight training" it will ask you how long you worked out for and give you an estimated figure of the calories burned. i dont have one, but it sounds like a heart rate monitor is the way to go, But this way is a start!

The other thing to consider is that the calories that you see on a machine are so inaccurate. If you step off the machine, the calories will still be accumulating. So who's buring the calories. Also if your twin sister got on and did the exact same thing, you would be shown the same calories. Its not accurate. You can get a heart rate monitor that will give you accurate calories based on you and your effort level. But it has to be one with a transmitter belt because its continuous, and that's the only way to get accurate calories. The pulse units that you wear on your wrist are useless.
