You can have excessive gas and bloating. I read if you throw fermented foods into the mix like raw veggies it can feel worse.

Constipation, if it isn't accompanied by enough liquids to keep stuff moving!

Fiber helps you feel full and keeps your digestive track working properly. There is no need to worry about getting too much fiber as long as you drink plenty of water.

You're going to have to be eating well in excess of like 100g a day of fiber for there to really be any kind of issue. Most people eat lass than half of what they should for fiber. Gun for at LEAST 30g a day, the more the better. Lower risk of digestive cancers and it helps your overall weight loss.

Varies from person to person. Constipation to just the opposite. Gas, abdominal bloating & cramps. How can something so good for you sound so bad? LOL

    GAS...lol
  • Eating too much fiber in a short amount of time can cause gas, bloating and abdominal cramping. Your body will eventually adjust as the bacteria in your intestines get used to the increase in fiber. But increasing gradually is a better idea as it helps to decrease incidence of diarrhea and gas. And drink plenty of water to help the fiber move through your digestive system. Hope this helps and best of luck!!

Actually that is not completely true. You CAN get too much fiber. Besides the gas, bloating and abdominal cramping previously mentioned it can lead to diarrhea, constipation, intestinal blockages and there are studies that suggest that it can lead to malabsorption of vitamins and minerals. It's suggested not to have more that 50g - 60g a day.

The results of too much fiber is actually similar to the symptoms of not having enough fiber. Bloating, gas and constipation.

Remember moderation is key to everything!
