salt lines on my shirt, HR maxed out, and burning eyes... but then again, I don't workout like normal people!

I normally leave a hot mess but I think that it will reallly depend on what you are doing. I do mostly cardio, jogging or walking at a high incline. If you are just doing weights I don't think you'd get all that sweaty, at least I don't.

I workout at home, and I push it to the limit... literally, to my limit, everytime. I am soaked in sweat after pretty much every workout. Gross yeah, but go big or go home! I don't ever put in a "little" effort... that would be pointless to me.

By the time I'm done I've soaked a rag from wiping my face on it, and my shirt is a different color than when I started. It's pretty gross actually. lol

sweat is not a good gauge of intensity. I know people who sweat profusely just sitting, and others who can do a 2-hour dance rehearsal with hardly a bead on their forehead.

My workouts vary. I always sweat a lot in spin, but not as much cycling (wind keeps you cool, ha!), even though I may burn the same amount of calories).
  • Shirt drenched!
  • I work out hard. I can still talk, but I have to breathe heavily to do so. I leave soaking wet from my head to my butt. Sometimes even my knees. lol I have to wipe big puddles of sweat off the machines before I go. :-x

One thing I noticed: when I didn't hydrate properly, I didn't sweat much. Now that I drink a gallon + of water a day, I sweat profusely.

I try to target my HR to be at 157 minimum, as this is the rate that was given to me by the JM website when I joined up there (I don't do that anymore, but I did for a while). I usually range from 157 to 165. I'm 35 years old... You're young, so yours could probably be higher, but I don't know about that.

I just upped my cardio from 35 minutes to 45 minutes, and the tension on the elliptical from 4-5 to 6-7. It's a killer. I'm a hot, stinkin' sweaty mess when I leave the gym, and proud of it.

I have a weird condition where I really don't sweat a lot. My body is just super stinky and sticky. :P

But yeah, I push myself. I leave out of breath.

EDIT: I may or may not have made up that condition. Mostly "may" :blushing: But I do sweat less than the average person... and overheat. ANYWHO.

I don't leave the gym until there isn't a dry spot on my shirt. I can usually squeeze sweat out of my hair, hat, and shirt.

It's not a pretty sight when I'm done!! Red faced and sweaty. I've had people at the gym tell me I don't mess around  When I come home my daughter tells me I have a sweat bunny on the back of my shirt.

When I finish up a round of JM's Ripped in 30 and then do 40 mins. of cardio my hair is as wet as if I just had a shower. Ugh. I typically keep my heart rate at an average of 165 and push up to 186 when doing intervals. I've noticed my heart rate going up to 194 while on lvl 3 of Ripped in 30 though. My HRM doesn't like that.

If I don't end up literally pouring sweat all over the machines at the gym, I don't consider my workout complete. It might be too much information but I always workout until I am dripping sweat down my arms onto the belt of the treadmill/spin bike/etc... As for my brow? Forget about it!
