i did you do lose weight but you gain it back again because what your losing is water weight. you have to be very strong because it will make you hungry after a few hours... and all you can eat is cabbage soup...0
-
same here - I lost about 3kgs and it all come back on within a week! found it super tough, didnt make it quite till the end then all i wanted to do was eat crap so had a huge binge! haha thats probably why the weight came back on!0

ALL you eat is cabbage soup? What the hell kind of diet is that???0
-
I wouldnt think just cabbage in your diet would be good for you0
-
My advice- dont do diets. They dont work, they cant be maintained. Make a health lifestyle change.0

ewww stinky0

Gimmicks do not work. Unless you are planning on eating nothing but cabbage soup for the rest of your life, don't bother!0
-
I lasted a day, it was awful. I was so hungry, I came home from work and threw anything possible into my mouth.0
-
I tried it last year at some point with a friend.. she lost (and gained it back plus more) what she lost was water!
All I got was GAS and a tummy ache... a bad one...
never again, Now I go the healthy route... lifestyle change, exercise and nutrition, not some FAD diet0 -

Okay, you're new on here and this is a completely innocent question, but you will find very little support for quick fixes on MFP. Not because we're all zealots or have great will power and dedication, but because we know they don't work. Count your calories, do your exercise, lose a lb or so a week and keep it off. It's not sexy, but it works.
G'luck

I want to use that as a motivator for me to start losing weight (if that makes sense). So that's why I was curious as to if it really works.
Here;s the link for it:

One of my good friends relies on this "diet" a lot. She has done the diet a few times in the same year before big events to lose weight fast. She did it before her sister's wedding to look really good, and then before a vacation. It does work. She can lose like 8-10 pounds in a week or so.
I think the whole idea is really scary. Her weight fluctuates so much. That can really mess with your metabolism. If you want a quick fix like she does, sure, go for it. But it's not a diet you can follow to keep weight off like calorie counting can.0 -
i think its a great idea, after u do the cabbage soup, try the monkey poo diet....0

I tried this several years ago and initially lost around 10 lbs, but then had it all back within 2 weeks. A friend of mine who is a trainer told me that most 'diets' that claim to help you lose large amounts of weight in short periods of time are only helping you lose water weight, which naturally comes right back once you resume a normal diet.
Also, I had horrible gas the whole week. I mean, it's mostly cabbage and fruit you're eating!

Sounds like crap. Just add a bunch of cabbage and other vegetables into your diet if you want big meals with lower calories0

My mom found it years ago, and we all (the girls) tried it with her. It works, but not recommended- it doesn't stay off long once you're done...
one of the other drawbacks is you bloat from the gas....0 -
Oh I know these things don't work. But it's really hard for me to feel motivated when I'm working out and not seeing immediate results. This would just be a jump start for my REAL work out and eating regimen.0
-
To me I saw it as a quick fix diet for someone that might be retaining water and needing to fit into something for a special occasion. Definitely not a true diet to follow and expect lasting results! Lasting results = lifestyle changes that you can adhere to for a lifetime.0

Thank you all for your speedy reply0

I did it for 3 days and got a blinding headache and felt very ill it is not sustainable
The best thing you can do with cabbage soup is use it as a healthy snack it is very low calorie and quite filling.0 -
I would only do it for a few days is you wanted to feel a bit less bloated for special occasion like a birthday or something. It doesnt work for long and like everyone said you just put the weight back on. It would make your tummy feel flatter ect if you just wanted to drop a few pounds for a reason. Eat heathy and balanced if your wanting a longer term weightloss xx0

Was on it, within a month...got tired of it. It cleansed you out. Lol. Much rather be on the special k diet or the Atkins diet.0

I hear it makes a great laxative. Have fun!0 -
There is another post on here you might want to look up about cinnamon and honey and how it helps with gas. Might need that as a dessert while on this :x0

If you are looking for a bit of help to jump start try Jillian Michaels Dandelion tea recipe this will help you lose water weight without compromising your healthy eating. I lost 4 pounds that week and it has stayed off.
Jillian Michaels recipe for losing 5 pounds in 7 days...
Get 60 ounces of distilled or pure water...
Add a tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice...
Add 1 dandelion root tea bag and...
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
This recipe works because it helps flush out excess water weight you have carrying around in your body and...
You could lose more than 5 pounds in 7 days depending on how much excess water weight you're carrying around0 -

I understand your thinking, but everyone is saying you will gain it back immediately... that does not sound motivating to me!0 -
*headdesk* *headwall* *facepalm* *headundertrucktire*0

If you think a quick loss will help motivate you, how do you think an equally quick gain will make you feel? Slow and steady is the way to do it. I know it's frustrating, but perhaps try not weighing yourself for a few weeks and then seeing a bigger number drop than if you check every day/week.Oh I know these things don't work.
