What is yours? I told my husband that I am getting me a workout dvd and I don't want to make a mistake and get one that's not worth the money or time.

Recommendations please

Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds/Walk at Home.
If you are only getting one video, I would get a 4 or 5 mile walk then you can start at 1 or 2 miles and work up to the entire work out.

Since I mix up my workouts so much, I can't say what specific results I get. But, it's a large calorie burn (I only re-do workouts that burn over 300 calories) and it is challenging, with modifications both to make it easier or harder depending on your level. Also, the dvd menu allows you to tailor the workout. (picking your trainer/workout. . .I skip Kim's who I can't get with. . .) You will develop a love/hate relationship to Bob and his lunges very quickly. Jillian you will just hate.

I recently purchased "Jillian Michaels" Biggest Loser, 3-2-1 Shred DVD, and it's great 20 min. workout, however it equal a 2 hour visit to the gym I've used it for 3-days and I'm already feeling some results. Great DVD, both Targe and Walmart carry it...

Although I have several other BL DVD's and I like them all there is a lot of variety which I like you can mix and match based on what you like or feel like!

I *love* the Jillian Michaels dvds - all of them, really. I especially like the "Biggest Winner" series. (I got the whole set for something like $15 at Best Buy a while back. Her new Banish Fat dvd kicks my butt. I have limited time in the morning, so I tend to try to find things that are only 30-40 minutes long. I concur with the Biggest Loser dvds (and skipping Kim's workouts!) I also like all of the Hollywood Trainer (Jeanette Jenkins) dvds (all in the $7 range at amazon). I rotate every day, but my "go-to" dvd is Jillian's "Cardio Kickbox." In just 27 minutes, I burn over 300 calories.
  • I have found that ANY of the Jillian Michaels DVD's are great workouts!! Take your pick!

I, personally, can't stand videos that are dance, hustle, jazz hands, feel the beat, hip hop anything. As soon as I hear "grapevine", "feel the beat", or "move those hips ladies and have fun with it"...I'm out.

So I like the Jillian Michaels 30-day Shred for a nice calorie burning workout. No dancing or coordination required. 20 mins and I burn about 220 calories.

I have also been using the 10-minute solution DVDs through Netflix for Pilates & Yoga. These are nice just because they are so convenient.

I like the Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds and Billy Blanks Tae Bo, I also have Biggest Loser Cardio Max which is good too. If you want to start slow go for Walk Away The Pounds as you can really vary your exertion rate and amount of miles done. I use them twice a week, the 4 mile workout and sometimes add weights to kick it up a notch. Hope this helps! Good Luck and congrats on your new baby! I have four too but my youngest is 5 yrs old now.

cham0194: I also agree about 10 Min Trainer. I am almost done the 4 week calender only 2 more days and I do 3 videos a day and I can't believe the diff in my body!

How are your results coming with it?

Classical Stretch! There is a combo with a total body workout and intense stretch for atheletes.

Warning: the intense stretch is not just stretching; there's quite a bit of strength-toning involved to get to the deeper stretches.

For starters, I would suggest the Walk Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone too. She has a DVD titled the 5-Day Slim Down which is really good because you can tailor your workouts and not do the same thing two days in a row. Good luck with your weight loss journey and congrats on the baby.

My faves are any Turbo Jam Cardio Party & the 30 Day Shred. I lost over 3 inches in a week on the latter (with a few other workouts in there).

I want them all LOL! I am having the hardest time trying to decide between a biggest loser dvd or jillian. I am going to check out some websites and prices and go from there I guess.

    Thank you all so much!

P90X is the best set that money can buy! I also like the 30 day shred and cardio max by Jillian.

If you go on youtube, you might be able to get a preview of certain parts and be able to pick what you'd rather do from there.

They are a little pricey but anything by Cathe Friedrich is amazing!! Well worth the money in my opinion.

And don't forget your local public library! Even if they don't own all of them in-house, they can almost certainly interlibrary loan them for you. That would go a long way toward helping you decide which trainer's style best fits you. I'm a BIG fan of previewing before I buy!
