Long story sorta short...
I was on here for almost a year and in that year I went from a size 18 to a size 8. Lost almost 40 lbs! Woohoo, right? Then life got way too crazy and I lost focus. Now I am back to 22 lbs lost but still fitting in a size 8. I am determined once again to lose the weight and succeed. Looking for new friends also that have ambition and drive to support each other. I can not get on here every day because...
Things have been so crazy lately. Ok, more crazy than normal atleast. I have been to so many Dr appointments between my one daughter and myself that I feel like I should be put on their payroll. Went to the Dr 2 weeks ago for myself because my neck is bothering me. Very stiff and my thyroids are swelled up. Now I am scheduled to see an oncologist to see if a biopsy I had done in 2008 needs to be repeated since the first time the biopsy was inconclusive and I was suposed to go back but they did permanent nerve damage to my neck so I was and still am to this day in a lot of pain from it. Had my daughter to the ER last week for chronic constipation which she has had since she is a newborn and been to a gastroenterologist in the last few days. She has been on so much medication that she should be cleaned out and yet she still can not go. It has been almost a week again. I am taking her next monday for a barium enema xray to rule out Hirschsprung's disease. On top of that I am still working 2 jobs and going to school although my dr told me to cut back. She feels there may be a correlation between the swelling in my neck and the constant migraines I have recently been getting. Also, my daughters started kindergarten but are only half day so now I have a 3 hour window in the morning to do homework.:(
My theory... I have to clone myself... Or more realistically, I have to get my *kitten* moving and figure out how to cut back on work and go to school full time to get it done with and also start hitting the gym 3-4 times a week.
I will however be on as often as I can so hit me up for a friend/support system and we will do this together!

Wow you have a lot on your plate! Welcome back all the same!
At a glance, a lot of why you are gaining weight could be stress/cortisol and not just your diet and exercise. Have you tried meditation or any herbal remedies for stress relief (milky oat and skullcap are great extracts that I take every night to keep my day's stress from creeping in on me and keeping my up at night). How do you sleep? DO you sleep?
Add me as a friend. I can't help you clone yourself, but I can cheer you on for better time management!0 -
Ha ha ha... Sleep. lol. Seriously I have insomnia that gets bad with stress. I was taking 5 classes in college last semester and working 60+ hours a week and this semester I have cut back to 2 classes and now I am still working 2 jobs but only 30 or less hours a week. Exercise may not be the entire answer but it is a great stress reliever and I am in need of some relief.
Gotta get it mooving!0 -
Yes exercise is great for stress relief, but you need your sleep too or you'll burn out (if you haven't already!).
For my stress-induced insomnia, I take 30 drops of Valerian extract (for body sleep), 30 drops of Passionflower extract (for mind sleep), 20 drops of Skull Cap (for muscle relaxation), and 80 drops of Milky Oat (for "wtf am i going to do omg omg omg there's so much to do and I'm so late" white rabbit style mental stress). I do this every night about 2 hours before bed and I've been knocking right out within 15 min or so. I used to lay there for 3-4 hours just thinking about junk.
BTW... I'm born and raised Northampton/Moorestown living in CA now. Great to see eastern PA represented.0 -
Hi,
I just wanted to ask you if your daughter has been tested for Celiac Disease?0 -
you are living in California? that was always my dream to move there, im from canada0

My father in law has celiac and we lived with them for 6 months after we sold our house and before we found our apartment. Basically she was on a gluten free diet for 6 months and still had the same symptoms the entire time with no change. My husband tested negative for it when he was tested.0
