Definately not sleeping pills although for a while I was a big user of Tylenol PM but it left me very sleepy in the morning. I would get up earlier in the day, force yourself up earlier, maybe do a run/walk, and then you'll be more tired by the time your bedtime comes.

You might try drinking a glass of water and a small protein snack an hour or so before you go to bed. Your stomach grumbling indicates you're hungry. Save some calories for later in the evening.

I have sleep problems for other reasons which are made worse by cutting down on calories and feeling hungry in the night. I ignore all the nonsense which is written about not eating after a certain time. I keep enough calories(about 35) back to eat a rice cake immediately before I go to sleep....and I mean literally before I turn the light out. It works for me and I am losing weight.

Try to save some calories for a snack at night to fill that grumbly void. A sugar free pudding maybe. One thing I have learned from this life-style change is that it is ok to be hungry sometimes. I used to eat any time my stomach was feeling a little hungry. However, you don't want to lose sleep. I would take the advice of getting up earlier.. Also, excercising during the day will help you sleep better at night. You know.. hot decaf tea may be a good thing before you go to bed. Many flavor choices, suppress appetite and the warmth of the tea will be relaxing. Sleeping Pills-- I have them for extreme situations. Personally, I don't think that you should use them--there are so many other things for you to try first. Good Luck! Let us know how you are doing.

If you're being kept awake by hunger then just eat something later in the evening. Works for me.

I agree with above posts about eating before bed! I woke up in the night hungry too. We are all dieting at our house and we all eat a bedtime snack. Nothing big just something under 150 calories. Now I don't wake up in the night anymore. U need your sleep also to help lose weight.
