I just bought Quaker granola bars with 100 calories. Even though they are flavors like peanut butter and chocolate....are they still nutritious and an okay substitute for say a banana?

I don't think they're anywhere near as healthy as a banana but they are yummy!!!:flowerforyou:0

I like the TLC kashi granola bars-they have fiber and not too much sugar or fat.0

they wouldn't be a good substitute for a banana, but they are a good subsitute for fatty high calorie things. and definitely better for you than most things.0

Hey are those ratties in your ticker? I have three. Two brothers, black and white hooded. The third is a dumbo rex baby who's also a black hooded but he doesn't get along with the other two. He is my spoiled little baby (he's several months old now though LOL) :smooched:0 -
Yeah the Kashi Cherry and Dark Chocolate bars dipped in yogurt is awesome!0

I over eat fruit like apples and bananas, and they don't have the staying power of some granola bars because of soluble fiber and protein content. A mix of food is always better.
Just read the label - avoid high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oil and all that stuff. The Nature Valley hard granola bars are a pretty good bet.0 -

yep   I have 3 too. the two older ones are white with tan hoods (one has a stripe down it's back- don't know if you can see it in the pic though). the baby is tan with white on her belly.
is a dumbo rex one that is hairless? I can never remember lol.
it's always cool to find people who like rats. most people are like "ewww!" lol.0 -
Try Fiber One Chewy Bars. They come in awesome flavors (I had a chocolate mocha one today - yum!). They taste much more decadent than they are and can be a great snack or even a substitute for dessert! Plus they provide about 30% of your daily fiber intake which is key to weight loss.0

a food is usually nutritious because it contains vitamins and minerals, so check the nutrition lable.0
