I do not have a degree in English.. but seriously everyone..

Lose = to LOSE something (like weight, car keys, mind)

Loose = untightened or relaxed (like a shoelace or your old jeans)

I LOSE weight, therefore my old jeans are LOOSE.

I may LOSE my shoe, because my shoelaces are LOOSE.

Yes...this has been beaten to death numerous times. Don't believe me? Type "lose loose" into the search function.

Yeah. This won't work. Maybe saying it will make you feel better, but this will change nothing. I'm sorry.

    You loose. :flowerforyou:

  • Your correct! You're post about grammar is dead on, and people should start practicing you your saying!! People tend to use poor grammar on the internet losely and start loosing their ability to properly write in the real world. Thank you for posting this.

  • Thank you. This is the first time I have seen this post, and it has given me much needed information to continue my journey toward weight loss.

Really? Most people trying to lose weight are already self-conscious enough - now there are being judged on their grammer? Bigger (no pun intended) fish to fry. This website was designed to be a "safe place' free of judgement. Weight loss is not just for the educated.

    Keep perspective.

Thank you! This obviously a big pet peeve for many of us. As a college student, I can't believe the amount of people that can't distinguish between you're/your etc!
  • You are fighting a loosing battle....haha!
  • THANK YOU! This drives me crazy!

Another example would be: "That guy is a jerk! LOSE him!" or "Why are you dating a porn star? Can you feel anything? I would think she'd be too LOOSE."
