So, in celebration of my first real night at my new apartment downtown on Lake Michigan, I thought I'd walk to work today... in 3" suede heels... while attempting to carry a clutch purse and an umbrella... in ridiculous wind gusts and rain. It was... an epic failure. Complete with blisters.

    Are you new to Chicago? Or just the Lake Shore area? Yeah, I'd never walk to the office when I was in Chicago. Sorry to hear you had a rough morning in my favorite city in the world.

    OUCH. I don't live far from my place of work in Tulsa either, but the wind gusts here are awful too. I contemplated walking... then changed my mind very quickly! haha!

    Oh, suede and rain. :sad:

    Definitely do it again but wear something comfy and take your pretty shoes in a plastic bag for both the weather and the comfort factors. You don't want to wear out the soles of the nice shoes as well as saving your feet from blisters.

    I'm sorry, but I'm laughing. I can relate. First time we went to Vegas, I wore heels walking on the strip. Halfway down I was in pain, with bleeding blisters. Bought a comfy pair of sandals--the sales associate said it was a common occurance with the ladies. *Sigh* what we do to look ultra cute! Hope your day got better! :flowerforyou:

    yes, what about the shoes. Suede and water doesn't mix. would be a shame. 3" sexy suade heels gone to waste :(
