It is really bad for you, your body feels like it is in starvation mode. You should eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day to stay healthy.0

Lots of articles say that the whole eating 5-6 times a day is a health myth and that all that really matters is that you at least eat what you should during the day, and it doesn't matter when or how many times you sit down to eat it OR what time of day you eat. You will see about a billion different answers to your question. Do what you think makes sense for you. If it doesn't appear to be working out, then try something new. Good Luck!0

It WILL NOT slow your metabolism...There is no scientific proof that meal frequency has any effect on metabolism...I've lost 20 lbs only eating supper, and I enjoy it.0

Whether you eat one meal or 7 doesn't really matter.
The trick is to get a nutritionally balanced meal in that one that meets your days needs for vitamins, minerals and your macros.

not eating breakfast and lunch will lower the metabolism because the body's glucose is starting to go down so the body slows down the metabolism so less sugar will be lost, so when one only eats one large meal at dinner it will burn less of it.
Now if one eats a good breakfast and nothing else the body should maintain a good metabolism for most of the day0 -
i seen a special on latoya jackson- michael jacksons sister, and to keep her weight down she eats as much as she wants for one meal a day- like a brunch and doesnt eat til the next day. one meal.
i dont know how u cant not feel starving by dinnertime, but i guess your body can get used to it0 -

All I know is, once I started eating 5-6 times a day, I began losing weight. My blood sugar levels stayed level. I never have a drop in my sugar.
If a person is going to eat that many times a day, you learn to space out your calories.
I found too that once I began to eat a regular breakfast, I FELT better....You don't eat for several hours when you sleep, your body NEEDS to have nourishment...and breakfast is just that: breaking the fast you've had from not eating since your last meal/snack.
When I ate only once a day, I gained weight and/or did not lose weight. No matter how much I exercised. You just don't eat properly when you eat one huge meal a day...Yeah, I know sometimes it works for people but after a while, your body stops working properly...0 -

as long as this isn't what you do everyday then it isn't a big deal. However, to keep your body fueled and your metabolism going you should eat three meals and 2 snacks...0

Honestly, it probably won' t make a bit of difference once in a while, but...you'll probably want to eat something else so you're not starving (which is not a food thing no matter what) and just put it down to an off day. And seriously, I doubt you'll eat 1200 calories at one meal. it can be done, but odds are you'll be uncomfortably stuffed.0

I cannot tell you anything on a "scientifitc" basis, but only what a weight loss doctor and nutritionist advice, but we are advised to eat three meals and two snacks per day because (a) if you eat only once per day, you tend to eat faster, bigger bites and overeat because you are usually very hungry by the time you eat, (b) there is something about how your body handles fat and sugar, but I can't explain it beyond that. LOL. When I eat according to the "schedule", I lost weight consistently; when I eat one big meal per day (unless the other two are meal replacement protein shakes), I tend to plateau. Just the info I was given and my experience, for what it's worth.0
