Looking for a 10K app.

I see Galloway has one (Ultimate 10K)
And there is Bridge to 10K.

Which have you used and what are your thoughts?

I am using the Bridge to 10 K app. I'm only done with week 1, but so far I like it. It tracks distance, pace, etc using GPS, and you can play your music from the app. Or you can choose to use Pandora for music if you'd rather. This is a good program if you have already finished the C25K program.

I am doing the Couch 2 10K program and I really like it! Its not easy but it is definitely better than just trying to start running on your own! Just make sure whatever program you pick to stick to it ex if its says 3 days a week only do it 3 days a week. I learned this the hard way and stressed my body too much at the beginning. I now mix swimming in on the days I don't run and I can see much more change and strength in my runs! Best of Luck!

I tried Bto10K after finishing up C25K, I didn't care for it. I was still trying to run races and also prepping for a 5 miler and breaking up the runs didn't work for me. I scrapped it and just started adding mileage week by week to get me where I am now. Will be running my first 10K in about 3 weeks, first half in about 6...but if it works for you, I say go for it!

These two things are completely different. The Bridge 2 10K app is an app that helps you train over time to run continuously for a 10K. The Galloway is for people who follow the Galloway principals of running...which is running along with walking breaks for recovery(intervals), and brings them to the 10k distance.

Which are you? Or which do you want to be? That will answer which you want to buy.

(I will say this- if you are NOT familiar with Jeff Galloway and his running principals- you should look into it!)

I use the Galloway app (10K) and i have decided that a10K distance is so much fun to run. I also used this app to train for my half-but I used Hal Higdon's training plan mileage...after combining both- I now find the 10K distance an easy run!
  • I love Bridge 2 10K! If you have done C210K it is the perfect follow- on. I have used it for 4 weeks now and I am running for a whole hour! I would not have believed this possible in this short a time. I would say you do need to be able to run for at least 30 mins before attempting this as it is quite demanding. Good luck on whatever you choose- it is not the app that gives the success but the person following it!
