Adding weights puts more pressure on your joints. You're better off running in sand, uphill or on stadium steps if you want resistance.0

I wouldn't consider it. Maybe a weighted vest or something if you really wanted to, but not on the ankle.
I would go with what the PP suggested adding hills or start looking at interval training as opposed to adding weight. That would produce more benefit than weight.0 -
Don't do it!
Just run faster, further, steeper, more often or all of the above.0 -
It's so dangerous to put ankle weights on for a run! Ankle weights are made for slow, controlled movement... not running! Get a weighted vest if you feel that you must add weight for training.0

get a back back and fill it with something heavy, like 4 pounds to start. i got a camelback backpack for my bike rides, but one day i took it with my on a run. filled up it made a noticable difference, and it weighs 4 pounds filled to the brim. added bonus, you can make the pack lighter as you go, lol!0

I've read numerous articles that have studied this and the result is the same--running with weight increases your chance of injury and therefore is not recommended. Better to be safe, and go at a fast speed, than weigh yourself down. In fact, picking up your speed is more likely to bring you into the fat -burning zone.0
