I think that drinking anything too fast can cause things to come back up. I would recommend drinking your water at a moderate pace to avoid choking or gagging.0

Not for them at all.. If wanting to cleanse do a vegan fast for a while.. You're body NEEDS food and water0

I did a water fast a couple of days before a big party that weekend, so I'd have a flat tummy in my outfit. I literally had one alcoholic drink and was off my face drunk! Its funny now, but it was crazy at the time..! Bad idea!!!!!!!!!!!0

I think they are great but only in short doses.
Short 24 hour fasts with only water are very good for you. Longer term fasting can cause your metabolism to slow and your body to cannibalise itself.
I would suggest reading the support thread for intermittent fasters before just going with fasting = bad opinion that seems to be prevailing in this thread.
