I saw some posts over the past few days from people not wanting the extra calories from things like Starbuck's coffee drinks. Here is an alternative that you can easily make at home or at work:

8 oz coffee (regular/decaf/flavored/unflavored your call)
1 cup vanilla soy milk (could use almond milk, rice milk, your preference)
1 tbsp of flavored creamer (I used Pumpkin spice - 35 calories)

You can drink this warm, blended with ice, whatever. It doesn't have a strong sweet taste, it is nice and creamy, and perfect for the cold, rainy morning we are having in Michigan today. Oh, and for all of this liquid - about 135 calories.

If you want it hot I would think you would have to heat it, yes.

Yes, please. Will you make me some right now please? I'm cold!
  • One thing I can't give up is coffee. I use Swiss Miss Diet in mine. It's not the best choice, but it's delish, and only 32 calories for the coffee plus hot chocolate mix. I've never tried it on ice, I don't think it would do well.

I didn't heat up the milk, but you certainly could!

Coming right up! It was very filling too!
  • I LOVE hot chocolate powder in my coffee and am trying to find an alternative to this.....I find alot of the creamers to be entirely too sweet when adding enough to actually taste the chocolate (not just water down the coffee)

Anyone have any suggestions for a chocolate coffee idea with low calories?

I sometimes use a half packet of sugar free hot chocolate mix in with my coffee. You could try just using cocoa too - that wouldn't be as sweet.
