Manual Treadmill?

I'm thinking about getting a manual treadmill- since they are fairly cheap... I've never even been on one before- only motorized treadmills...

Anyone have positive or negative experiences with them? Any recommendations on good brands??

Thanks!

Bad idea. Kind of like mowing the lawn with a push mower. Try and find a cheaper used motorized treadmill.

Look at all that are for sale in your area on craiglist.com

my college gym had one and I used to love it. I liked that you can control the speed easier, it feels more natural than a motorized one. No advice on brands sorry but I think , since they are cheap, its worth it to get one. I have a motorized right now and have been wanting a manual to add to our (in progress) home gym

Mowing the lawn with a manual reel style push mower and sneakers filled with cement!

Someone gave my grandma one years ago... not sure why they thought an older lady with arthritis could possibly use that thing. It hurt my knees just trying to get it moving, and I was in OK shape at the time!

My parents had an old nordic track and it was awful! The fly wheel was difficult from day 1, and it needed a LOT of TLC to work properly.

I agree about checking Craig's List, or maybe freecycle.org for a less expensive motorized one.
  • Thanks for the input.

I'll have to check out those craigslist postings!
