Spinach Salad

1 pkg fresh spinach (washed & torn up)

12 pkg bacon (fried & crumbled)
3 or 4 hard boiled eggs (sliced)

Toss above ingredients together

Mix dressing in a jar or something with a lid

1 cup crisco oil
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 Tbls worchestershire sauce
salt to taste

Pour dressing over salad just before serving

I have had this before and it is delicious..i am vegetarian so i would take out the bacon but to me it just doesnt seem healthy..any ideas how i can make it healthier?

Try fat free deli ham instead of the bacon, or turkey bacon. For the dressing, I like to mix orange juice with balsamic vinegar and maybe a little raspberry jam, some tarragon and a dash of Dijon mustard with just a little olive oil.

Oh! You're vegetarian....you might throw some toasted slivered almonds in there!

Hmm, you've got eggs in there for protein and the dressing contains fat so I'm not sure what you are missing nutrientionally by eliminating the bacon. Maybe try adding a little feta cheese? I love feta and spinach together.
