Personally I believe that unless it comes from the faucet, a fresh fruit or a liquor bottle its not worth drinking. I havent had soda in 5 months and dont miss it at all. Diet sodas have all these chemicals, you may as well be drinking soda. Don't poison your body with soda, chemicals, sugar, etc. Blech!

I used to drink Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi for breakfast before I learned how bad it is for you. That was about 10 years ago, and I haven't had it since. I drink fizzy water, usually Crystal Geyser with orange, lime or lemon essence. Or Club Soda with a squeeze of fresh orange. You can also buy Steevia flavored drops that you can add to fizzy water. On-line, at Raley's or your health food store. They even have Root Beer flavor!

If you ARE going to drink diet soda, at least educate yourself on the dangers of drinking it so you can make an informed decision. Just google some searches like 'dangers of artificial sweeteners', 'is diet soda bad for me?', 'will diet soda help me lose weight?', 'health risks of drinking diet soda', 'health risks of artificial sweeteners', etc. Here are a few searches I did that you can check out.

Actually my experience with this goes deeper than just 2nd hand information. These were the only references I had on hand. I have seen first hand the health problems caused by artificial sweeteners and diet sodas, and other processed crap, and the improvement made when cutting them out, working with many patients over some years.

I've read many, many, many articles on artificial sweeteners and diets, ad nauseum. I like it. I've lost 41 pounds in ten weeks and I will continue to drink it. Will I tell anyone else that they should or shouldn't drink? Nope.

I am not telling anyone what they should or shouldn't drink either. I believe my post says "If you ARE going to drink diet soda...."

To each their own. I just know that there are health risks and that it's not good for you, so I choose not to. If someone posts something like this they will get lots of different opinions. That is the point of it. This is just my opinion. If you think diet soda is healthy for you, have at it....

I went from drinking 1-2 liters of diet pepsi a day to 1 liter a week. Although it tastes heavenly, it caused a lot of bloating. So now I feel better, and shifted my love for pop to sugar free caffeine free sweet tea.

I'm a coke addict seriously! have had it all my life. But I just know it isn't good for you at all. I mean its all man made processed. So this has been day 4 no soda for me. :) But that's just my opinion im sure if you have it once in a while to get the craving out will be fine.

I went cold turkey when I had lapband surgery 7 months ago after being a 3 - 4 cans a day person and I absolutely haven't missed it. Water is cheaper and tastes great.
