Hello Team UK!

Can you believe that it is November already!? Well, for me today marks 2 years since I moved to the UK - it's been a big 2 years but I still can't believe it has been that long. When I first moved I was really sad and homesick and off work waiting for vaccinations for 3 months and that is actually when I gained the majority of my weight. So now that I am FINALLY getting settled (just about to start my first permanent job and no longer saving for a wedding abroad) it is definitely time to re-focus and get this weight back a bit!

Looking forward to another month of Team UK motivation :)

Welcome everyone! Oh, for those of you who haven't been to the Team UK thread before - it's not so much a challenge as a support group. So you can set your own challenges (or just tell us about you or your day!) and keep us updated. It's just nice to be able to talk about stones and food from Tesco :)

I am defo in. I have been very lax the last couple of weeks. Back to get my body going on again. My challenge this month is half a stone loss or close to that and a size 14-16 hips. Gonna start a new Jillian DVD tomorrow, order my new inner tube to fix my bike and go swimming 3 times a week. xx

is it really november already? hmmm guess i should start thinking about christmas, parents have sort of confirmed they will be visiting us for christmas just don't know how long for yet (depends on my mums shifts), so got to start thinking bout what to feed them, normally a simple task but dad is awaiting treatment for gallstones so is on a restrictive diet, what he's actually restricted to i'm not quite sure, his gp told him to eat this and the hospital have told him to eat that and i'm looking on the interweb and getting some serious conflicting info so i'm confused, but he's back at the hospital early december so hopefully we will be able to come up with something.

in the mean time if anyone has any info, please share with me lol

Yay! Where are you going in Australia? Such a loooooooong trip that I have done too many times but it is worth it in the end I think (not that many but still too many - I guess I've done it 6 times?). Have you been before?

dad is awaiting treatment for gallstones so is on a restrictive diet, what he's actually restricted to i'm not quite sure

Not really something I deal with a lot but I'm pretty sure that there is no proven benefit to diet for gallstones. If he is waiting on surgery then they could be wanting him to lose some weight? Or the advice could be some of the old school advice which is mostly restricting fat severely (and sometimes sodium). Hope that helps. Edited to add that I am a registered dietitian in case you didn't know :)

This is so true! The most annoying thing is when there's a really good looking recipe but it calls for something like Cool Whip! And I always like it when my friends' diaries have Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys in them.

Can't believe it's November already either, no idea where this year has gone at all. This month it'll be a year since I left London and moved to Bath, that seems crazy!

Does anyone have any particular goals for Christmas? I'm doing the 10lbs by Christmas challenge, although I'd like to lose a stone by then ideally. I always wonder why Americans don't have stones, does anyone know?

Morning, happy November, hope we all survived Halloween!

My challenge is to compete c25k and to be well on the way through B210K by the end of the year....

I'm trying to shift my focus away from weight loss numbers and onto fitness goals. Along with this, I will be continuing with Turbo Fire  I  Chalene!

I'm going to Perth - my best friend moved back nearly 6 months ago after 10 years living in Leicester. Her hubbby just got his spousal visa granted so that means he can now work!!! It'll be sooo good to see them and catch up - Skype, FB, email it's not the same...and both of us are so busy that we've not spoken in aaaaages either...but I'll be seeing her soon x

    Happy November Prime everyone!

I love November... sure it's dark nights and even darker days.... but I can start opening the doors to MY advent calendar as I count down to my birthday

And now I've also got my wedding anniversary to look forward to in a couple of weeks too.... FUN FUN FUN

Also going to Madrid at the end of the month, so it's going to be a busy busy month and so much to fit in and work around in terms of food and drink in the run up to Christmas.

... So let's get the party started here and now on MFP :drinker:  :flowerforyou:

    Morning all!
Did my second Pilates class yesterday, which was interesting - all we did was stand and then lie down, but everyone in the class was commenting on what hard work it was!

I LOVE Perth! I only spent a few days there but it was lovely (and it has really constant sunny weather without being in the desert!). Definitely recommend taking the ferry out to Rottnest Island and having a walk or I think you can cycle around.

Here is a pic I took at Rottnest Island on our trip :)

I totally understand that the whole email thing is not the same... I really struggle with not keeping in touch with people but it is so hard!

After having booked it way back in Feb/Mar it's finally starting to feel real!!
