One pound of fat is approximately equal to 3500 calories.

If you want to lose 2 pounds a week you need to reduce your calories by 7000 a week and/or increase your activity to burn extra calories.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than your body needs, you will gain approximately 10 pounds in a year.

If you eat too few calories a day, your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will decrease.

The lowest intake per day recommended for females is 1,200 calories.
The lowest level recommended for males is 1,500 calories per day.

    hope this helps!
