Do you guys have any tips or suggestions for someone who really doesn't like doing ab workouts. Arms...I can do...legs I'm awesome at...But anything to do with the mid section and I wimp out.

I would really appreciate any advice you guys can give.

I have a couple of pilates vids saved on my instant queue that I do enjoy doing but I hate doing them by myself. I have to have a work out partner to keep me going and lately she hasn't been able to come. So I try and I start the first to work outs and then I just....lose motivation/get bored and quit.

I don't have that issue with any other work outs (legs, arms, walking/cardio).

    Hahahahaha I know right?

I don't know why I wimp out on these types of work outs but I have a blast on any other ones no matter how hard they are. It's weird.

I'm trying to get my friend motivated to come back and then we can do it all again. lol!

I LOVE pilates for the core and back but I can't do it anymore. I prefer to do videos otherwise I cut myself short but the videos that I like to do (or used to) are soooooooo slow that I end up quitting. Now I do some other videos for abs (Chalean Xtreme - Extreme Abs.....VERY good ab workout and Insanity - Cardio Abs) and I have no problem doing it. Probably because it's so fast paced. There are no breaks. You flow from one movement to the next and before you know it you're done.

Do compound movements that involve the core vs just doing ab specific exercises.

I do belly dance and alot of the moves are great for toning and such but I only go to class once a week.

I suppose I should start dancing again. I always have fun doing that.

I think my main problem is I get bored with the dvd's about half way through. Where as with anything else i'm engaged because of music or something like that.

Sooo....maybe I should start dancing again while making dinner?

I don't know why I quit dancing...I think it's because my husband gives me weird looks when he comes home and i'm dancing in the kitchen with a wooden spoon in my hand XD

Planks and pushups use your entire core, and any twisting motions can help with the obliques. I liked Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack because it wasn't all crunches on the floor.

I do planks. I can hold a plank for 15 seconds where as two weeks ago I barely made 10. I can hold the side planks pretty easily if my knees are bent. My goal is to try and go for 30 seconds with them bent and if I can do that then try for 10 seconds with them straight.

As for push ups... I can do about 10 push up with the help of a pilates ball :blushing: But I can do about 3 sets of 10. So I'm getting there.

Yeah. I get this weird expression when I'm watching 'Dancing with the stars', he's probably thinking what I'm thinking.

I'm not sure that's what he's thinking...at first it's like... "Why is she dancing?" Then it changes to "Oooohhhhh Hey...that's kinda hot"

Then he wont leave me alone so...yeah
