iPhone or Android??
So I'm up for an upgrade with my Sprint service and I can't decide on wether or not I want the iPhone 4s or the HTC Evo 3D....I've heard so many great things about the iPhone as well as bad. I currently have an Android phone (Samsung Moment) and one of things I love about Android is that many of the apps are free. I've heard that's not really the case with the iPhone. iPhone users, this is want I need you to do, make Steve proud and sell the HELL out of the iPhone! Nay sayers, tell me why I shouldn't purchase the phone WITHOUT being biased (and that goes for iPhone users as well - be fair and honest! lol!) . I know many Android users are uber anti iPhone but really be fair and keep it real guys! Ok? 3....2....1...GO!!! :drinker:

DROID! Apps are so much better and the market for apple charges you for stuff you get for free in on a Droid.... Just sayin.0

HTC EVO rocks!! Android rocks!!0

iPhone. I very much disliked my droid 3.0

I love my Android. One of the big reasons. Most apps are free whereas when you buy and I-Phone you pay for everything.0

android!! (maybe it's the hipster trapped deep down in my soul but i feel like the iphone is way too popular... plus the 4s is having battery issues right now, just sayin')0

I do not have much experience with Iphone, but I bought an HTC Inspire for $150 (with case) and wow!! not dissapointed at all. Fast, easy to use, free apps galore. Amazon offers free apps every day if you have an account with them. Some are like $5 apps. This is a biased review. Enjoy your purchase! You can't go wrong with either.0

i think it depends, i have an iphone and love it! my daughter is geeky and loves her andriod , i would talk to people who have the phone you are intrested in have a good look at them , don't rush.0

I haven't paid for one app0 -
I have 86 apps on my iPhone and have only paid for 1. It is a diabetes tracker that my husband put on his phone and since we share the same iTunes account, I hav eit too, so I guess you could say that I got it 1/2 price. And, I LOVE my iPhone!0

I'm having the same debate... Only im with verizon... Love my droid but im so over it always freezing up...0

I have an Android, a Samsung Replenish, which is on the less impressive end of smart phones because of it's space but I LOVE it. It's my first smart phone, so it wasn't too hard to please me, haha, but after playing with family members' iPhones and comparing, there honestly wasn't much of a difference.
I personally would choose Android over iPhone because of control issues. I want control over what I can and cannot put on my phone. Android gives me that control, Apple constricts it so much I would get frustrated fast.0 -
I ANDROID and my HTC EVO!!! No freezing or any other problems! Plus the MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFO-HTC EVO is INSURABLE!!!! ANDROID ALL DAY!!0
-
I'm just waiting for the latest Samsung Galaxy Nexus to be out :glasses:0

I haven't paid for any apps and I have TONS on my phone.
I love, love, love that I have my iPod & a phone all rolled into one!0 -
I have used both iPhone and Android. I personally prefer the Android. I have the EVO 3D and I LOVE it!!!!!0

iPhone! There are A LOT of apps that are free for the iPhone. Most of my apps that I have were free.0

I've never owned an iphone but I am very happy with my Droid X. I've had a few problems here and there but they were all corrected with updates. I haven't paid for any apps and it does everything I need it to. Also, I've been able to upgrade my phone for a while now but I really have no reason to. I'm very happy with my droid.0

:noway: Man!! I am literally TORN!!! I really don't know what to choose, lol! Man you guys have me thinking!!! I don't knoooooow!!!!! Lol!!! Well, I guess the only thing I can do is COMPARE! COMPARE! COMPARE when I go into the Sprint store tomorrow! Thanks guys for your feedback and not getting into a heated debate! lol! :drinker:0

Since there are lots of recommendation but virtually ZERO actual information, here's my $.02.
The key difference between them is the fact that andoid is open source and the iphone is not. Open source is a double edged sword. The good thing about it is that anyone can develop for android, from sophisticated and complex roms to very basic apps. That means that new apps are going to hit the market faster/more often and greater customization is possible. The downside is that there are more frequent version updates and quality control is much harder to enforce.
What's that all mean? Well, if you want a reliable, solid phone that you just want to use as it was meant to be used, go with the iPhone. If you want to be able to tweak and play and try things and don't care about force closes and what not, go android.
Both have extensive markets with more than enough free and paid apps. That should not be a determining factor. iPhone does not support flash, in most cases that isn't a deal breaker, but for some it could be. an iPhone is an iPhone is an iPhone. There are several different flavors of android... all have the same key features, but the look and feel can vary device to device.0 -
I used to be really Anti-iPhone until I went through so many Android phones within 1.5 years. I had G1, G2 & MyTouch 4G and something went wrong with each one. I gave in and went over to iPhone in Feb and wondered why it took me so long. I adore iphone and now I have just about every apple device out there now.0

iPhone! I can't stand my current Android phone, it's horrible.0

Wow! Thanks! LOL! That was extremely detailed! I really need to play around with both for a while before I make a final decision!Since there are lots of recommendation but virtually ZERO actual information, here's my $.02.

Samsung moment was one of the worst Androids ever. I have an EVO 4G and while there are still some issues, I love it. Wouldn't dream of going to an IPhone. In fact, my friend who has Iphone 4 for AT&T and Jailbroke his so that it now looks and run close to that of an ANDROID. POINTLESS HUH? He still prefers Iphone, just jailbroken. Eh, ANDROID IS BETTER. SORRY JOBS, YOU WERE GREAT.0

Yes this is well detailed. I'd like to just add and inform you, that if you are a music lover, you'd be stuck with Itunes if you go to Iphone. At least this is my understanding. Whereas android has a ton of apps you can use to get music.Wow! Thanks! LOL! That was extremely detailed! I really need to play around with both for a while before I make a final decision!Since there are lots of recommendation but virtually ZERO actual information, here's my $.02.

OK, I can't have an iPhone because my cel phone company can't support it. (We have a really good regional company that hasn't been bought out by the biggies and won't be any time yet so we're staying!) So we all have Droid's. LOVE THEM!
I do have an iPod touch and it's pretty much like the iPhone without the phone, so I guess I do know the comparison.
I have to say, if given the choice, I'd stick with the Droid.0 -
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Motorola Droid3. That said, I am a keyboard kinda gal. My husband has the Iphone4 and loves it. I like its functionality, especially the sharing features since our house is totally Apple except for my phone. If the Iphone had a physical keyboard I would probably own one. I am on my second Droid and love it too! Good luck with your decision!0
