Under calorie goal, is it ok to splurge at night?

Last night I was under my calorie goal by 600 so I had 250 calories worth of Ben & Jerrie's. Is this ok? I was still under my fat goal, and still like 400 (I believe) calories under. Take a look at my diary if you want.

Anyway I guess my question is, is it ok to eat ****ty food if your significantly under calories?

I know ice cream is not good to eat every day but it satisfied a MAJOR sweet tooth as I hardly had any candy this year. I almost got 100 cal ice cream bar instead, but want Ben & Jerrie's.

btw it was half baked :)

Sounds delicious! I have no problem splurging every once in a while, as long as you fit it into your caloric goals! Having that many calories left over, in my opinion, is worse than spending some of them on something you truly enjoy! :D Keep up the good work!

I would say it's fine...just make sure you don't go over your other goals. Ben & Jerry's is incredibly fatty. Also, watch how often you do it.
  • I agree. I actually plan my day so I can have 200-300cals for treats so I don't feel deprived. It seems to help me quite a bit. I am not really tempted by my daughters holloween candy because I know I have my treats.

    Short answer: Yes, it's fine.

Slightly longer answer: Yes, it's fine, but you should still hit your macronutrient goals and it would be in your best interest if "most" of your food selections were from nutrient dense sources.

No way could I eat double of what I did ((the 250)) even half baked lol (if you know what I mean). Kudo's to you if you can fit it in and want it :)

I'm wondering would it be ok to make this a weekly thing if I'm 400-500 under AFTER eating the ice cream. W/O booze it's hard to make that mark anyway, assuming nutrients and such are good.
