Hubby and I have been invited to my sister and bro-in-law's house for T-day. My bro-in-law loves to cook and does so with everything full fat, lots of butter, etc... So for me, it'll have to be self-control: portion sizes, moderation, and lots of working out to counteract the damage. lol0

I'm hibernating until the Spring. Just kidding. I'll just find healthier alternatives to traditional meals.0

I am going to be brutally honest. Thanksgiving is my fave, always has been. I really try to stay away from cheat days, but...
I'm going to eat like it's my last meal. And then go back for more. One day isn't going to derail me. I have a half Marathon on Thanksgiving Sunday to kick my heiny back in gear.0 -
Last year I brought all of the desserts when my mom hosted dinner. This year, I'm staying close to home with my little family, so I'll be in control of what's served. I've got recipes for pumpkin mousse, pumpkin pie, and my go-to dessert, banana pudding.0

I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing. Work out hard every day thanksgiving - the weekend and enjoy every delicious meal that my family cooks, pie and everything0

I don't want to be a buzz kill but, I am not doing anything differently. We'll probably go to my Mom's house for thanksgiving and I intend to gorge myself until my husband has to roll me to the car! But, to make sure I don't gain I'll probably exercise like crazy the week before and the week after. It will probably be the same at Christmas. But, I'll make sure not to take any left overs home either time!0 -
I'm going to do what I did a month after starting on my new lifestyle.
Fill up on the veggie plate, eat a large portion of the turkey breast and plain veggies, a small spoonful of every other dish so I have a "taste" and drink a ton of water. This way there is a smear of color on the place. from pushing the little bits around and no one can complain that I was doing without. And then have small mini slices of pie, just so that I don't have in amount of more than one single slice.
It worked for me the last time I had a large family gathering, it should work again. One day will not throw you off, but if you let it be a whole week, then it will mess up the whole holidays.0 -
Your post reminds me of Everybody Loves Raymond when Doris cooks the healthy Thanksgiving...too funny! I'm trying to figure out how to not make tons of Christmas candy this year...my family will think I have completely went crazy somewhere....0
