We all have those kinda weeks, just try to remember why your doing this. Forget about dieting you are working to save your life, to ensure you dont have to deal with a weight issues in the future. Looking good and feeling good are just by-products of this lifestyle change.

Sure! A great way to get your motivation back is to take some time off. But you need to start by writing down how you feel right now. Not all the depression stuff per se, but write down how energetic you feel, how easy it is to run up stairs, how proud of yourself you are for running certain distances, lifting certain weights, etc.... all the good stuff about how healthy you are right now.

Then take about a week or two off. Start taking note of how crappy you feel after certain foods, after sitting all day, how weak you feel after only skipping 3-4 workouts, etc.

The difference is astounding. You'll be excited to get back into a healthy routine, and try to switch your paradigm from the depressed mode, to realizing that you really ARE DOING IT & being healthy! :) That what you're doing really IS enough & feels good. Stop putting too much pressure for perfection or numbers on the scale, and just enjoy feeling healthy & active.

are you consistent? like really? this phrase has been used to death but it HAS to be a lifestyle change. you have to learn the proper foods for your body, the ones that will make you fuller longer, your fruits, veggies, etc. . . drinking plenty water, trying to get enough sleep, exercising regularly (not even everyday). . . handling stress well, all of this plays a role in your weight loss /overall health. it is an everyday thing, not 2 days here, 2 days there, that will get you no-where, just take it a day at a time, and know that all you have is now and that you will treat yourself right by doing and eating what is right, hope that helps.

    Hi!
You may just have to shake up your routine a bit - maybe try a drop-in fitness class or try something physically demanding that you always wanted to try, just for a change (like an indoor climbing gym session).
I find I get demotivated when I get bored of my workout routine and I just need a little break from it without de-railing myself.

I peruse Sucess Stories when I start feeling demotivated. I also found signing up for 5K's as a great way to keep the motivation going.

"When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before."

    WOW!!!!!

Thanks so much! Needed to hear that really badly!
  • When I feeling that way I find fun ways of working out, like dancing or having a hit of cricket with my mates at the beach...things that make me feel positive, not just because I'm active but because I'm having a blast in general :) We all have days like that, you stick with it, it'll pass xx
