According to mfp I am allowed only 1200 calories per day. I am following that and am losing weight but do still feel hungry at times. Is everyone allowed only 1200 calories and does that number change at any point, say when I am close to my goal ? My sw was 181 my cw 156 and my gw 145.

What did you set your loss per week goal as? Since you don't have much left to lose, you should probably be using the .5 lbs or 1 lb per week setting.

If you want to lose 1 pound per week, it allows your maintenance calories (based on height and weight and activity level) minus 500 calories per day. But it won't let you go under 1200.
  • Hey there, I think if you change your settings to lose 1 pound a week then the calorie intake is about 1800 KL x

You can eat more than 1200, when you exercise you are supposed to eat those calories back. Having said that your weekly weight loss goal my be too aggressive with the amount you have to lose. You can put your setting up to 2lbs/week but MFP recommends 1 lb/week. The following is a guideline for setting weekly weight loss goals.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.
