Don't feel guilty. What's the point of doing all this and feeling better if you can't go out and enjoy yourself?? Just don't make it a habit and there won't be any reason to look back.0

it is fact that alcohol does a lot of bad things that impede your weight loss. You will lose more weight faster if you do not drink.
I've lost 44.4 pounds in 11 weeks WITH alcohol in my diet when I want to work it in. Doesn't look like it's making me lose slower. It's like any food or drink. Plan for it and work it in if you really want it.0 -

Congrats on losing 44lbs. That still doesn't change the fact that alcohol negatively affects weight loss. If you read the rest of my previous post you would see I was encouraging the OP to make a sustainable choice (which is probably to drink in moderation)
I have lost 120 lbs and would not have been able to do that without modifying my drinking habits. I still drink I just do so occasionally.
* Alcohol is full of calories yet devoid of nutrition someone seeking a fitter lifestyle should seek to eliminate these empty calories from their diet.
* Alcohol stimulates the appetite and impedes good judgment, this means you are likely to make poor food choices after consuming alcohol. When was the last time you were at waffle house at 3AM sober?
* Alcohol suppresses testosterone which impedes muscle growth and fat loss
* studies have shown fat burning decreases by 70% for several hours after consuming alcohol
* you will probably not go to the gym when you are drunk, or if you have a hangover.
* Alcohol impedes sleep and causes dehydration (sleep and hydration are very important when losing weight)
* drinking just 2 coors original every night adds up to approximately 30 lbs of weight gain every year
don't you think that those facts show that alcohol impedes weight loss?0 -

I don't think what *I've* worked in for *my* body has impeded my weight loss at all because I would have many people saying that I'm already losing too quickly since it's averages 4 pounds a week. Every one is different. I have gone to the gym after drinking. I have refrained from eating extra food when drinking. I've slept just fine when I got home, etc. I'm *not* saying it works for everyone, but at the same time you can't use a blanket statement and say it always negatively effects everyone. **Everyone is different** And I also said earlier on a previous page in this thread that it must be worked in. Which obviously means in moderation. I never said, "Sure, go binge on alcohol. You'll be fine."0 -

I just started my diet after earning 18 pounds in a spam of 4 months. I moved from a small city ,where I used to bike and walk everyday, to a busy city where I find myself using the transportation every day for hours.
I like drinking, it keeps me sane after a long day of work and study and I just want to relax.
Is there any recommendations everyone can give to make drinking alcohol less caloric?
I have read in last posts skinny margarita, I have seen it in the store so I will buy it and give it a try. I really dont like Light Beer of any brand, I prefer to sacrifice the extra calories just to the sake of the taste of good beer. But what about mixes? or whiskey sour? Which ones you guys prefer? or if anyone knows which ones are the less caloric cocktails?
