Yes and yes! I think this is when really paying attention begins. Too easy to get comfortable and blow it!

I haven't got there yet, but I would imagine that in some ways it would be harder to maintain because you have more calories to eat. You have to convince yourself that it's safe to eat more after spending weeks, months, years?? convincing yourself to eat less
    A tough sell, I think..

I haven't hit it yet - but when I was close I got lazy and stopped logging and gained it all back, plus some.
When I hit my goal weight, I'm going to continue to log so that doesnt happen again lol

I got to goal around this time last year. since then I have been yo-yo-ing up and down by around 14 pounds. keeping at goal feels to me as hard as losing weight! I have to keep coming back and logging to get back on track. Currently almost 14 pounds over where I want to be. I fear that keeping weight off will be a forever commitment! But I hope it will get easier over time.

I've been at my original goal weight for over a year and below my goal weight since May. I continued to log after I hit my maintenance weight, but have stopped now.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life logging food/exercise. At some point, I have to trust myself to do it without the logging. If I feel like I'm spiraling out of control or binge eating - then I will go back to logging for a few days, but so far? I'm doing just fine. I'm hovering between 143-147lbs and staying in that range.

I think it is up to each individual person what will work for them. If you think you'll fall off the wagon and begin to gain weight - then by all means, keep logging. But, if you think you have a good handle on how to be successful in this journey - then stop logging and see how you do. :)

I should mention that while I don't log anymore - I DO weigh myself every morning still. This helps me to see that I know what I'm doing and am staying on track. I like knowing that the numbers are staying where I want them to be.

I was nervous about not logging at first. I felt like it would be sooo easy for me to spiral right into a big ole night of binge eating if I didn't have to account for my calories in my food diary. But, I realized that I had to give it a try. About a month ago, I had a rough few weeks (health issues, family issues, family member health issues) and I could feel myself wanting to eat away my emotions. So, I started logging again for a brief period of time to get me back on track.

I stopped logging on weekends and holidays when I hit my original goal in June, and lost about another 10 pounds since then. I was still eating at a tiny deficit up until a few weeks ago, and now I'm on maintenance level.

I'm more relaxed about what I'm eating, because I'm fully confident in my ability to stay this size now that I enjoy exercise and running is a hobby (read: addiction) of mine. I know I'm going to want to continue training to become a faster runner, and as long as I run regularly, I'm pretty much able to eat whatever I want. That's a wonderful feeling!

Plus, now that I have the tools to lose weight (this is the first time it's ever worked for me) I know that if I do pack on a few more than I'd like over the winter months, I'm not going to have any problem shedding them by the time I want to wear a bikini again. Gaining weight just means I'd have to work a little harder and pay a little more attention for a while, not the end of the world.

I am still Logging every day because I like the accountability. It would be SO EASY to get complacent and let myself go back to eating the old way. I hope that maybe some day I will feel like THIS is my "Normal", but I am not quite there yet (I have been within 5 Pounds of my Goal Weight for 12 months)

I still log everyday. I'm also working on bulking up so using MFP to make sure I hit my calories surplus without getting out of control. Even after I'm completely satisfied with my muscle mass and body fat, I plan to continue to log for the foreseeable future.

I'll rather log in every single morsel that goes in my mouth for the rest of my life than gain back one single pound of the 93 it's taken me almost two years to lose. Logging in is nothing compared to how old, sick and tired I felt two years ago.

Your mileage may vary but I'm not taking any chances.

I have not made my goal yet either, but my goal is really more than weight, it is a comfort zone including how I look and feel in my favorite jeans. I agree with the previous poster about not wanting to meticulously log EVERYTHING for the rest of my life, but I do think accountability is key...to an extent. I like the idea of having "cheat" days because with out them, weightloss/health becomes miserable instead of a lifestyle. When I hit my goal, I believe I will continue my love of exercise but won't be so anal about logging...until the day my jeans are too snug. They will be my gauge!
