But what if you aren't getting it usually?? hm.. then its not part of your daily lifestyle.
haha0 -
Yes it burns calories but I do not think you should count it. If you weren't trying to loose weight would you not have sex? No you will still have sex its part of your normal daily, weekly, monthly whatever life. Same thing as cleaning the house. you will do it anyways so I dont count it. Unless its major deep cleaning for hours.0

I've read sex burns about 144 cals per half hour... not sure if true or not. LOL0
-
Yes, it burns calories.
No, I wouldn't count it. Hopefully it is a part of your daily, or maybe every other daily routine, and is therefore not exercise.0 -

im pretty sure you shouldn't count it, but if you were really curious you could wear a HRM during... maybe not so attractive.. but hey..0
-
Unless you are having marathon sex, I probably wouldn't count it as exercise.0
-
ah yes... the most pleasurable exercise ever made! One of the many bonuses is the calorie burn.0
-
If this is accurate then I wouldn't count it0 -
Anything that gets your heart rate up! Only way to track it would be to wear a heart rate monitor. Not sure how sexy that would be.0
-
I've heard people on MFP say they do log sex for exercise~ they put it under "Dancing".. wink wink LMAO0
-
I say count it! And to some what answer your question... probably burn more calories if you are not on bottom during missionary. Any position that requires you do the most movement or requires some stamina will be your best bet. I bet you can convince your husband to help "support" your weight loss with this activity.0

"Oh yeah, baby. Just like that... hold on... have you seen my HRM?"0 -
Ha, good stuff! Most calories burned for you... I would say, on top squatting. Your thighs will get an awesome workout!0

^Yes. I agree.0 -
Sounds like an easy answer - what position results in you moving the most? Certainly not missionary!......However, I seriously doubt you could have sex long enough to warrant burning a lot of calories! Of course, it doesn't hurt to try.....0

Well if there was something over her head that could support her weight that she could reach up and grab, she could also get a workout in the bicep/tricep area... wouldn't you think?0 -
I can just hear these romantic encouragements:
"You better pick up the pace there Sugar, my heart rate is dropping".
"Common just another 12 min. for a personal best"
"Damn my HRM strap shifted."0 -
I wouldn't log it because I consider it part of normal daily activity and has already been factored in...

I think if it's longer than your normal lovemaking sessions, then yeah, go ahead and count it!
I've heard of people wearing their HRM during to know exactly how many calories they burn.0 -

I hear hand jobs are a good arm workout...if he can last through 30 minutes of arms and 30 minutes of squats, you might just have yourself a worthwhile 100-calorie burn!0 -
I would only log it if it lasted an hour or more. >.> Personally.0
-
Thinking we need more research. Let's experiment and report back on this.0
-
The last time I looked it up, I found that it was 125 calories burned for 35 minutes. Of course, you would have to get that heart rate up, I would count it. Acutally I have! :blushing:
I agree that much more research and testing is needed here.0
