My older sister and i go every year. Last year some random punk kid tried to push my sister out of line ( literally pushed her) and me being really over protective of her started a huge fight. Got in this dudes face and he got escorted out of target. Dont mess with my sister. lol. All around though its fun and if you have a good game plan you can usually get in and out with out a fight. =)

I'll be shopping online, especially since so many places will have free shipping. I think last year I got my husband a bunch of DVDs for Christmas for $3.99 apiece on Amazon, and they were new releases. I have a few things I'd have bought already for our son but have held off because the only store that has them (Toys R Us) is not all that close, and I don't have a big enough order ($75) to get free shipping. So I figure on Black Friday/Cyber Monday they'll probably at least have free shipping, if not some other good deals as well.

I don't go there. Back in the day of the Cabbage Patch doll rage, a woman in our town was shoved through a plate glass window in the crowd's rampage to get to the bargains. I prefer to keep my body intact
    !

    :noway: Holy crap!

That's why I listed K-Mart as one of the worst places to shop on Black Friday. We went there once. The line to get in wrapped around the store. There were also a bunch of people milling about in the parking lot near the store's entrance. When they opened the door (yes, just ONE door), all those people rushed the doors, pushing & shoving the people who had been waiting in line.

My sister and I had been talking with this cute little gal who appeared to be around 8 months pregnant while we were standing in line. When the crowd surged, she started to go down, and we had to grab her under her arms and carry her to keep her from getting trampled! It was horrible. Then, the store didn't even have a lot of the items from the Black Friday ad, so there was a huge angry mob at the customer service desk. We just got the hell out of there without buying anything. Never again!!

I've read about being careful that stores actually have the items in stock that are advertised. Some stores advertise certain prices, and then in the very fine print it says that it's only for the first five sold or something like that. Kinda messed up, which is one of many reasons why I just shop online. No deal is worth the effort, in my mind.

Meh, I've gone the last few years and some places are worse than others. I think if you are looking for electronics or other high-end items, it's worth it, otherwise just wait a few hours till later in the day and go.

No idea what it's like in Seattle but that's where I'll be this year for Black Friday so I may have to experience it!

I'd rather stick white-hot, rusted sporks -- that have slathered in a freshly laid pile -- into my eye sockets than go out on Black Friday.

    Online shopping for me.
  • I will probably not go this year...I went last year to walmart and toys-r-us with my sister and cousin. Toys-r-us was good, organized, people were in a nice neat line lol Walmart was horrible especially since they do not close and the sale starts at 12 am, people were lining up near items at 9pm! my cousin and I were near a toy my sister wanted and when midnight came we were literally jumped by people and one bit my cousins hand for a toy!!! NEVER AGAIN

I did it once. All 6'3" and 300some odd pounds of me got my *kitten* kicked. Don't know how many times I was run down with shopping carts or hip checked by crazed rioter... I mean shoppers.
Never again. I will pay extra to not have to deal with that ever again.

But for those of you who do: http://bfads.net/Hot-Deals

I am going. I love the atmosphere (even though it is chaotic) because it gives me energy and is exciting. Plus, I have a shopping addiction. There, I SAID IT! haha

I go every year. I've heard the horror stories reported on the news. Fortunately, I have never experienced anything like that. My group has a ton of fun - it's as much about the sales as it is the time together.

I'm sure Walmart would have great deals, but yeah even their employees are rude. I did Kohls last year, I would definitely go again. But I prefer shopping online, you do get some of the same great deals and no shipping fees.

I work at Kohl's part time. They will be opening at midnight on black friday.

I got excited about seeing Walmarts black friday ad posted today... I need a new laptop... I am not feeling the way they are going it this year with the different times. 10 pm, 12:01 am, and 8 am Like, I want some things and 10 pm but want electronics so will have to be in line at that time to get a laptop...

My mom, sister and sometimes my nephew have always gone to black friday.. Walmart is the first stop and sometimes target or other stores depending on the deals!

    This!

I despise black friday! I'll probably get up early and make some baileys & coffee, read the paper and throw a few tennis balls around for my dogs.
  • last year we got a new couch and bedroom set of 35% off and a new 40" TV for 25% off

My hometown made the national news for Cabbage Patch riots, too!

I refuse to take part in the insanity. :noway: I've worked retail... even trying to get into the store as an employee is dangerous. Peace on earth and goodwill towards man... unless he's got the last Elmo.

Call me crazy but I love Black Friday! It is one of the few times I have just to myself to shop. I go every year and will def be out again this year!
  • No Black Friday for me! I went out with my husband last year and I hated it; I didn't like how pushy everyone was I was cold tired & just didn't like it. I also have stress about spending money on things we don't really need. :P

I go every year! Buuut I don't go in the morning, I go on Thanksgiving NIGHT around 11 pm and start my battle plan. You gotta be relentless! And as for the rude people; we bring air horns. And that's how we roll. ;)
  • I'll be working. This will be my fifth now, but honestly the last three were ok since I didn't work in a mall, so we got the mall run off that were so happy that we weren't crowded and had parking hahaha. But this year I'm in an outlet mall and we open on Thanksgiving night so I'm scared :frown: But luckily my manager told me I don't have to be there until Friday...and then once I'm off work, I'm going home to sleeppppppp.

And for all you shoppers, have fun and please be nice to the sales people, we appreciate it :)
