What positive changes took place first when you started losing weight? These can be both health and beauty related
For me?
The best one: I no longer get headaches in the morning from sleep apnea/snoring (noticed this in the first week!)
I am not out of breath walking around campus to my classes anymore.
I can see my jawline!!! (self conscious about double chin)
All my clothes are loose.
I have more energy!
I no longer feel bloated
These are just a few, but there are plenty more! What about you?

My work pants started getting loose on me!0
-
My wedding ring fell off. I now have to wear it on my middle finger.0

I think the first things were:
Not getting out of breath walking up stairs
I started being more social and getting outside more. I didn't realize when it was happening but looking back now, it totally started at the beginning of my exercise.
My clothes started making their way to the storage closet because they were too big. (Now, I am down to 1/3 the clothes I used to have.)0 -
I can pull my feet up to paint my toes nails without my stomach getting in the way. I can reach back and not feel the back/bra fat I used to have... my wrists are super small. I haven't had a serious breakout in a long time. I'm also fitting into clothes I bought/used to wear that are 3 sizes smaller. I've gone from a size 16/18 to a 10.0
-
jawline getting prominent.. I always thought I had a round face!!0
-
Before the scale reflected any weight loss my clothes started getting loose and I was able to go down a pants size. I also think about the calories I eat, is what Im about to eat worth it, this is especially true after a good workout.0

This may seem silly to some but I no longer have heartburn. A big thumbs-up.0
-
the only thing I've noticed so far is that i had to get new pants
i was out downtown with friends and my pants literally fell off so i was like its time
other than that i don't see a difference, but others say they notice so i guess that's good0 -
I've noticed that I'm not as hungry as I used to be. I can eat within my calorie goal and feel full. Also, I have more energy to play with my son.0

I can cross my legs
Lesser acid reflux
blood pressure under control
extra energy
loose clothes
no swollen ankles
no headaches
double chin almost gone
neighbors noticed before me0 -
I don't crave processed, high-fat foods anymore. And I can run for 5 solid minutes without feeling like I'm going to pass out!0
-
I just started and I haven't noticed any physical changes but the feeling I have now just by me losing the wee bit I did is fantastic!!0
-
1. I have to do dishes twice a week now that I'm cooking more.
2. I can cross my legs under my desk now.
3. I got my strut back.
4. I'm wearing pants/jeans now (instead of leggings under summer dresses during winter months).0 -

What a great question!
For me once I started losing weight it was...
More energy
Less knee pain
Could easily sit on the floor with my students
Complements and encouragement from friends and coworkers0 -

I got my strut back! I love that!!!
I don't know that I've ever had one!0 -
I can walk upstairs like a "normal' person. Our stairs are very steep, and some nights I was literally going up them on all 4's.0
-
1. I could get upstairs faster.
2. No more acid reflux... I am extremely happy about this!0 -
Now my pants are way too big for me.
I have a lot more energy during the day. The drawback: I no longer can watch TV or play PS3 games at nights because I'm too sleepy (I wake up at 5 AM to go to the gym).
I'm far more confident.0 -
Love this topic
The first thing I noticed was that I no longer work up with heartburn in the middle of the night! HAHA!! (simple things like that..I LOVE!)
Its easier to walk up and down the stairs..hell, who am I kidding...it's easier to walk ANYWHERE!
I have confindence now that I've never had before0 -
I can see muscle tone and I cook more on the healthy side, still working on that one. Lol0

Ahh! this is SUCH a great post!!! ... I am ALL about the little things that you notice when you first lose weight .... Here are my favorites I've noticed about myself:
1) My legs are just overall toned now. My calves have definition and you can see the muscles .... I have ankle bones!!! .. And my knee caps stick out LOL .... I love to shave my legs now because I can feel the muscles and I have to be extra careful not to cut myself around them (before I could just swipe and know that I wasn;t going to catch the razor on anything haha)
2) My jawline. I, too, am self-conscious about the double chin ... and i love how a nicely defined jawline looks on a woman (very elegant, I think) . But also, my nose is starting to change ... I think it used to be that I always had fat in my face, so now that THAT is going down, my nose is becoming more streamlined ... my face doesnt look like a little kids anymore
3) My armpits. Ok, I know ... this is a weird one. I wasn't expecting this one ... but my shoulders/upper arms have always been MASSIVE... my upper arms still are ... but I noticed that my shoulders have gone down a considerable amount .... and underneath where my armpit is, I now have that "dip" inbetween my armpit and shoulder ... I dont know how else to explain it lol ... its definately weird... but idk i love it!0 -
my class ring quit fitting, that was the first thing I noticed. When I got it I had a little bit of trouble getting it off, now it doesn't even fit on my ring finger so now I wear it on my pointer finger0
-
My appetite was the first thing to go. Super quickly. Then i lost addictive cravings to junk for the absolute most part. Finally, I had gained an enormous appetite for exercise and such.0
-
No more insomnia and afternoon naps!0
-
Mine are similar to some already posted!
-loose rings
-double chin shrinking
-saving money from eating out once a week instead of 3-4 times, & it's cheaper to buy fewer processed foods, more fresh produce & no junk at the grocery!
-lots more dishes to do from more cooking
-able to walk up the ramp at the UofL football stadium to the seats in the sky (1/3 mile walk uphill) without getting winded AT ALL when I used to have to stop 3-4 times to take breaks & thought I was going to die! It's an awesome feeling to see proof of how much healthier I am becoming already!
-looking forward to working out & going 4-5 times a week compared to 0 exercise before!
-already feeling more confident, even though I have a long way to go!0 -
Less snoring, my wife really appreciates that.
No more indigestion.
Lot's more energy.0 -
Great thread!!
Let's see...
-Shirts have gotten a bit looser, so has my jacket.
-Back ache is mostly gone!
-I can wrap my hand around my right wrist and the tips of my middle finger and thumb touch.
-Favorite jeans fall off when I put my phone in my pocket! They're not my favorite jeans anymore...
And finally...
-I can scratch the middle of my back all by myself! Ahhhhh......0 -
No more chins. I'm beginning to see cheekbones. Can almost see collar bones. My knees and hips don't hurt anymore. My wedding ring is very loose. Earlier this year I had to wear it on a bracelet. I've lost three pants sizes. I'm in a 16W now. When my 10 year old gives me a hug she can grab her hands behind my back. A co-worker said I had skinny hands. Can't wait for the rest of me to catch up!0
