I do a clas at the Y called RIP. We used weighted bars and free weights to contiuously do reps for the duration. We work on a different group of muscles for every song. Does anyone do anything similar to this? I am wondering what the cals. burned would be?

  • I take a class called Group Power that sounds very much like yours (we also use a step) and I found an estimate online of 500 calories burned in a 60-minute class. Hope that helps!!
  • That sounds like a great program to be on.

I do Bodypump which sounds like it could be similar. Depending on your weight I think Bodypump burns like 500-700 calories in an hour. Of course this depends on you and how much weight you use and your exertion.

I took a class similar to that called Body Pump, same thing, working a diff muscle group w/ each song, using barbells and handweights. It was a really good class.

This may be true. I don't know your weight but the lower you weigh the less your burn. Which sucks!! I burn around 600. I weigh 185.
