I weighed 170 pounds before I got pregnant with my son. I weighed 245 at 40 weeks of my pregnancy. I have got it down to 229. I have started exercising BUT eating right.... I have no idea how to plan better meals for myself. Always been a member of a "heavier" family. All my family loves bread, pasta, and big meat eaters. I like vegetables just dont know the best way to prepare them for me and my family a better diet. Anyone help me with that?

Meal planning is very important when working towards loosing weight. A sight I have found that has some plans already is: http://www.momswhothink.com/easy-recipes/easy-dinner-recipes.html. I'ts helped me a lot for planning at least the dinner meal. A few other important things I have learned on hear is when to eat and how much. It's different for every person. Some people do well with eating 6 small meals a day. Others 3 main meals with snacks in between and after the last meal. Also portion size. As for cooking vegetables I like most of mine raw. Steaming is a good way to cook them. I put about a 1/4 c. water in the bottom of a pot/pan with 1/4 t. salt and that helps add a little flavor. Potatoes I'll boil or bake. A great site also for nutrition is: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/. So there are a few ideas. I hope this helps. Great job on all the weight you have lost already! There is a lot of great information on this site and a lot of helpful supportive people I wish you all the best!0
