I have an Polar FT7 and I can use some help troubleshooting. I already went through the manual but there's no clear answer/solution/resolution.

My watch is not communicating with the transmitter. I tried washing the band with no luck. I tried changing the battery on the transmitter with no luck.

At this point, does anyone have any recommendations?

change the battery in the watch?
  • my guess would be to contact polar and ask them, they will probily ask you to send it in, they will either fix or replace it (if your still in the warrenty)

I thought about that. The watch actually has a low battery indicator and it looks strong. That will be the next thing I try.

Are the contacts wet? I had the same problem with my Timex when I first got it. I read somewhere to lick them right before you put it on..and now I never have a problem :)
  • Hi Tomomatic. I actually work for Polar. If the battery indicator is on in the watch, it could very well be that. The other suggestion was with the contact points on the transmitter, making sure they are wet when you put it on. That's a common fix. But it sounds like it might be the battery in the watch. How old is the unit?

    Sorry. Let me rephrase.

The battery indicator on the watch is showing me that the battery is fine.
The contacts on the band (the mesh ones) are definitely wet.

I got the watch in May so it should be under warranty.
