Who have lost over 25KG? & How Did you do it?

Hi guys, Just wondering how did you loose that amount of weight esp over 25KG?, How did you stick with it? What did you do? my goal is too loose 24kg and I don't even know where to begin. Providing before and after pictures would be great! I like reading or hearing people success stories.

Logging every thing I put in my mouth & working out 6 days a week. I've lost 68 lbs (30.9kg) since May.0

I have not yet lost that much but my aim is to get there - I am currently about half way to my goal. It has taken me about 4-5 months and it's just one step at a time. Break it up into several smaller goals and tick them off as you go (my next goal is to get below 100kg for Christmas...)
I have lost most of my weight so far by becoming more conscious of what I eat through logging (nearly) every day; I have not been able to increase my exercise due to an injury so it's been all about the food for me. Good luck!

this will be interesting for me too!! 24 ks was what i needed to lose when i started mfp at the end of september! i am losing it real slow (feels like it) i would say on average 1.5 pounds per week. some weeks i lose nothing..then others i lose more good luck to you!0

I've lost 57lbs (26KG) since April 2011. I log everything, OVER estimate when not sure and weigh once a day. The scales fluctuate wildly by what I eat and the water I drink. Usual water intake is 12-14 cups. For my weight loss, water is the key. You need the water intake to flush out the broken down fat. Simple reasoning on my part but hey, where else is it going? It doesn't disappear in to thin air. Eating a lot smarter. Stay away from processed foods, canned goods, deli meats. More nuts as snacks, a salad once a day and don't fear a good egg and bacon(low sodium, without the bread & Juice) Water and calorie counting works.0

Let's see. 25 KG is about 55 pounds. I've shed 125 pounds, which is about 56.6 KG.
I ate nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks in sensible portions, drank lots of water, and moved my body.
That's about it. I focused first and foremost on getting healthy and, when I made healthy choices about what I put in my body and how I moved my body, the excess pounds came off.0 -

I have lost 64 pounds. Not all at once and not in one fell swoop either. I've learned a lot on my 4 year journey - coming up on 5 whole years.
I was turning 50. 205 pounds. The fattest I have ever been in my life. Wishing and hoping didn't help. Neither did a million other approaches. I wanted my cake and to literally eat it, too! Not happening for me. I came to realize that there was no other way. I had to do a healthy lifestyle makeover. I have crappy insurance and luckily no major health problems - just Hypothhyroid.
The first thing I did was realize that I needed a lifestyle change. I only wanted to do this once. Not interested in learning how to eat again after doing the crazy monkey diet or something. I was watching Dr. Oz on Oprah. I practically cried when I got to the part of no sugar and no white flour, but I was sick of being fat. Okay, I'm in.
Next up: exercise. I actually made a list of what I would and would not do. I hate joining so no gym. I've already paid $100/visit for lifetime gym memberships. It doesn't work for me. Running? No. Stationary bike? no. Dancing? yes, but no partner - my husband won't dance - it means going out. Not going to be dependent on another person for my exercise. It came down to walking. All I needed was shoes and no hot sun. Okay. Later I added strength training videos with light dumbbells. Good. I liked that. So walking once a day for 30 minutes and doing my exercise videos 30 - 60 minutes a day 5 days a week.
I joined a much more complicated calorie monitoring website and counted calories. Thank God I found MFP because I LOVE eating my exercise calories! Just like a rat in the maze, I'll exercise for food!
I was frantic at first. I was doing everything right, just not losing the weight. Patience grasshopper. It will work. Your body is in revolt and it doesn't want to let it go. But it has to. It will and it does. My speed was 1.1 pound a week over time. Very disappointing, but by October I had lost 53 pounds, I think! Got into a size 8 from a size 16.
I decided I didnt' need to count calories anymore or log in. Big mistake for me. I gained 18 pounds in the following 3 years and could not for the life of me take that first step again to getting my diet and exercise in line! Finally I did. check out www.fatloser.com. IT helped me a LOT! Free no strings.
I joined MFP on Feb 7 I think or that is when I started with my first step again and I have been at it strong ever since. I went from 170 pounds to 140.2 this morning. My goal is 135. I am just 5.2 pounds away. I am wearing a size 6 jeans but did squeeze into size 4 but found them too tight on my 54 year old body.
My most important advice? You know YOU best. You know what you will do and what you won't do. Figure it out. I didn't want to pay anyone or answer to anyone but my self and my MFP friends! I also realized that I was a quitter my entire life. I never followed through on anything. Ever. This is the first time I have followed through on something and it has been the most difficult and also the easiest thing I have ever done in my life. I have learned a lot on the way. I feel strong. I have changed my diet, my life, and my health. I am a lifer here and enjoying it. Before I would die everytime I saw someone who knew I used to be smaller. Now I have no problem saying, "Oh, I used to be 205 pounds". Bragging? Sort of, but I need to remind myself that those 205 pounds are just around the corner if I don't keep myself motivated. Shopping helps. So does being able to walk for long periods, walk up hill without getting short of breath and looking like I belong to my husband instead of looking like a fat old hag. That is how I felt and I didnt' enjoy it. I am so much happier today. SO MUCH!
I know you can do it. Read all the success stories you can find. Read what everyone is doing to support reaching their goals. You are more than capable. I feel like I've wasted my life being fat when like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz I had the power all along.

26.6kg down since June. Started with calorie counting and exercise, averaging around 1300kcal per day, but my metabolism slowed (at one point my heartrate was 45bpm) and so did the weightloss. It didn't stop outright though.
From September I've been low carb (no bread, pasta, potatoes, rice), cut down on the running and upped my calorie intake to about 1600. Weightloss back on track, heart rate around 60 bpm.
Both ways work; up to you which you prefer.0 -
I've lost 66 pounds since April. I started out slowly, making small changes like cutting back on portions, eliminating fast food. Then started walking. I started MFP in June and stick to my calories as closely as possible, with the occasional "free meal"
I will say the hardest part was mentally: it clicked - it's going to take a long time (I want to loose 100+) and that's ok. I'm going to have bad days, or go over my calories sometimes and that's OK, too. I also have my DH on MFP, too and I honestly don't think I could have made it this far ith out him.
Also, the beginning was the hardest because of all the cravings I had for junk food. I quit cold turkey for awhile and that helped me get past it. Now I know I can eat fries and not go on a rampage, lol.

I've lost 22 kgs all up, it took a while, but don't think of the amount of time it will take because everything is progress, right? If you try to do everything right at once it can be overwhelming. Make a plan and see how you go. I started by cutting out sugars because I know that is a trigger for me.

I have lost 21.5 kg thus far - since around July 11 - another 22 kg to go. I think the biggest thing for me was regular exercise again - calorie counting as I seem to have a different problem from most - I just don't eat enough so I think I was in starvation mode for the last 15 odd years - so counting has enabled me to not feel guilt about everything I put in my mouth - I always had this 'I feel fat the second I eat' thing going on - and god forbid I got full feeling!!! Anyways, the other thing was cutting back on alcohol alot. I was working in a crappy job whereby it was a viscous circle - sedentry all day - come home drink wine - do no exercise and rarely eat over 1 -2 meals a day. So, I have basically retired :-) and now I exercise every day (which increases my appetite) and there is no need to drink - I am happy.0
